Review of Tech-Sight TSR200 (for Ruger 10/22)
Kevin Felts at AllOutdoor has reviewed the Tech-Sight TSR200. These sights are, hands down, the best iron sights for the Ruger 10/22. I have been using them for many years and can’t say enough good things about them. Kevin wrote …
Weekend Photos: 1960's Bronco .22 LR Survival Rifle
The Bronco is a .22 LR survival rifle made during the late 1960s and 1970s. They were marketed with the slogan “without frills”, which was, if anything, an understatement. The Bronco was essentially a copy of the Hamilton Model 7 which was made form 1889 to 1901. For most of its life the Bronco retailed for less than $20.

BREAKING NEWS: GSG & ATI Sue H&K. Claim H&K Does Not Own MP5 Design
In 2009 Heckler & Koch (USA) sued German Sport Guns GmbH (GSG), who manufactured the GSG GSG-5 .22 rifle, and American Tactical Imports (ATI) who imported the GSG-5 into the USA. They successfully argued that the GSG-5 infringed upon their design patents for the H&K MP5. They took court action soon after licensing the design to Umarex who were designing a competing MP5-patterned .22 rifle. GSG paid a settlement of $300,000 and agreed to modify the design of the GSG-5 so it looked less like an MP5.
POTD: Custom Remington 597 FLX
Gripen sent us this photo of his custom Remington 597 FLX. As a life long .22 LR custom rifle fan, I really like his setup and I use many of the same parts myself (although the 10/22 is my platform of choice). He wrote …
POTD: Beretta U22 Neos
Trent sent in two phenomenal photos of his Beretta U22 Neos pistol ejecting a .22 LR case. Each photo took about 20 shots before he has happy with the result. I struggled to choose which one to feature. In the end I chose the above photo because I love the blurred lines of the brick wall in the background which give the photo a sense of speed. The second photo is below.
Bulletproof Skin
Dutch researcher Jalila Essaidi has bio-engineered a bullet proof material using spider silk, grown from goat milk, and human skin. They tested it with a reduced velocity .22 caliber bullet. This is all well and good, but it does not help with trauma transferred. Sort of like bullet proof vests will help stop a bullet but you still get the force of the bullet transferred into your body and can cause internal damage.
Dirty dirty .22 suppressors
I know from experience that .22 suppressors accumulate a lot of dirt. Federalist shares the lessons he learnt about cleaning .22 suppressors …
Chiappa Resurrects the M6 Survival Gun w/ 10+ Caliber Options
TFB’s staff scoured SHOTShow 2014 for all the latest, but the show is so big, something is bound to slip through the cracks. One such gem is the pictured Chiappa X-Caliber, the 12-Gauge version of Chiappa’s M6-22, a 20-Gauge replica of the Springfield M6, a .410/.22 over/under survival rifle for US Military air personnel.

Browning 1911-22 Composite (Polymer Frame)

Semi-Automatic .22 Pistol Design For 3D Printers
Proteus at the DefCad forums has published CAD files for “The Brick”, a 3D printable semi-automatic .22 LR pistol. The gun is mostly made out of ABS plastic, even the bolt and barrel, but it does require a number of metal components, including an AR-15 semi-automatic fire control group, firing pin and buffer spring as well as a Ruger 10/22 magazine spring, a 1x8mm metal insert (for the chamber) and .44 caliber lead bullets or equivalent (inserted into the bolt to provide weight).
