Lever action shotguns were not popular for a long period of time, and even John Browning suggest that Winchester opt for a pump action in lieu of a lever design. Chiappa Makes Winchester 1887 Clone

Chiappa is now making a clone of the Winchester 1887 lever action shotgun.  The Chiappa states the gun can handle all modern “high-pressure” 2 3/4″ shotgun ammo.  It has a five shell tubular magazine and can also hold two additional shells (one in the chamber, one in the receiver) for a total of seven rounds.

Chiappa T-Series 1887 Shotgun Pistol

Recent video games such as Call of Duty renewed interest in the oversized and impractical pistol-gripped 1887 Shotgun that was originally made popular by the second Terminator movie. Chiappa is cashing in on the pistol-gripped 1887-craze with the 1887 “T-Series”. It features a rubberized pistol grip and an 18″ barrel. Because of the long barrel it is legally a shotgun not a pistol.
