Welcome back to  Wheelgun Wednesday, our weekly article series where we cover everything related to revolvers. Today’s topic is a look at one of the candidates for the title of “World’s Largest Revolver”: the M.R. New System Arms Cucciolo.

TriStar Arms, a renowned importer of firearms in the United States, has recently unveiled its latest offering: the Matrix line of inertia-driven shotguns. Designed with hard-use, high-volume shooters in mind, these shotguns bring a new blend of “beauty and function” to the TriStar Arms lineup. Three initial offerings will be made including a walnut version, a Synthetic stock version, as well as the Matrix RT-Max-7 iteration featuring Realtree MAX-7 camouflage.

Hodgdon has just announced the latest addition to their line of shotshell reloading powders, the High Gun. Formulated specifically for 12-gauge loads, this flattened-spherical powder is advertised to pack a powerful punch, delivering outstanding performance and precision. Hodgdon High Gun allegedly closely replicates the Remington Nitro 27 factory loads and guarantees consistent metering, clean burning, and uniform patterns. This new Hodgdon shotshell powder is available immediately at retailers selling reloading products. The powder is available in 1-pound and 8-pound canisters.

Apex Ammunition is excited to announce new limited-edition shotgun ammunition specially produced in partnership with the Mossy Oak brand to showcase their Shadow Grass Habitat camouflage pattern and also featuring a duplex load combining No. 3 Zinc and No. 8 TSS shot to provide the user with a versatile load that can be used all season long for any type of waterfowl. Officially announced at the 2022 NRA Annual Meetings and Exhibits and set to be made available online and in stores soon is the new Federal Premium HEVI-Bismuth 20-gauge and 12-gauge shotgun loads. HEVI shot loads have started to become extremely popular with dedicated waterfowl hunters and this new HEVI-Bismuth load will give hunters a new industry-leading pellet composition to help fill their tags and at the same time, reduce lead exposure.

A lot of you probably already donate to various charities around the country. Giving back is a rewarding experience for both parties and if you can combine that giving with something else you love, that’s always an added bonus. Remington Ammunition has just announced the addition of two new 12-gauge shotgun loads dubbed their Gun Club Cure line that aims to give back to families in need across the country by donating a portion of the proceeds from this new line to various children’s hospitals and disease research centers.

Italian firearms are often nothing short of pieces of artwork as much as they are guns, especially when it comes to shotguns. Rizzini USA is the Utah-based importer of fine handcrafted Italian shotguns and rifles that range from legendary firearms like the Rhino Express chambered in .500 Nitro Express to their new BR110 Sporter IPS (Improved Performance System) 12-gauge O&U shotgun. This new shotgun is made from a combination of a Rizzini BR110 frame and handcrafted Turkish walnut stock featuring a fully adjustable rib that requires no tools.

Using a shotgun for home defense, like anything else, has pros and cons. One of the biggest cons is the limited capacity that comes with a tube-fed shotgun. One way to increase your capacity is to make the shells themselves shorter, and that’s exactly what Federal has done. Expanding their line of Personal Defense rounds for 2022, these are the Force X2 Shorty shotshells from Federal Premium.

One of the most popular waterfowl hunting loads is back with a vengeance as HEVI-Shot has just reintroduced their tungsten waterfowl loads with their new HEVI-XII. The HEVI-XII delivers more power down range, more pellets on target, and is completely non-toxic. The new loading will come in several different configurations and will also be available for both 12 and 20 gauges.

There is nearly an endless amount of semi-auto shotguns available on the market today to choose from. However, I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything quite like the VRF14 before. The new VRF14 from Rock Island Armory is the company’s newest offering that takes the concept of a Mossberg Shockwave or Remington TAC-14 and melds it with the gas-operated shotgun concept. The new Firearm has just been announced and as such, no information on pricing or availability has been made yet.

Recently TFB reported on the announcement of a new high-end shotgun from Krieghoff International, their K-80 Parcours. This elegant over/under carries a tremendous amount of family tradition, from a brand whose history spans nearly a century and a half, two continents, and five generations of family operation. The K-80 Parcours is intended to be a versatile solution for shotgunners who enjoy both competing and hunting. Now the German-American firearms manufacturer has announced a new version purpose-built for sporting clays competitive shooters: the K-80 Parcours-X. The company has issued the following press release about the Parcours-X’s unveiling at this year’s Sporting Clays National Championship at the National Shooting Complex in San Antonio, Texas.

The name of Brazil’s CBC (Companhia Brasileira de Cartuchos) is almost immediately associated with ammunition manufacture, since this has been the company’s main area of activities since it was founded by two Italian immigrants in São Paulo back in 1926. In the 1960s, however, industrial activities were expanded with the production of single-barrel, break-action shotguns, first exports to the United States being recorded in 1966 and eventually reaching over 1.5 million units in the years that followed. The year 1990 marked the actual internationalization of the company with the creation of the Magtech brand and wide distribution in foreign countries, consolidated in 2003 with the addition of a sales branch in Hamburg, Germany. In 2007, CBC acquired all the assets of the German military and LE ammunition manufacturer MEN, followed two years later by the acquisition of the renowned Czech Sellier & Bellot ammo maker. Little known, but of foremost importance, was the 2015 stock control acquisition of Forjas Taurus by CBC.

Today’s post on the work of Brazilian gun designer Nelmo Suzano (1930-2013) brings to light a somewhat unique 12-ga shotgun you TFB readers may have never heard about, the Pentagun.
