Our friend Sebastian Unger (aka homegunsmithunger), inventor of the innovative “ Topside Takedown 10/22 Receiver” has been working hard to find a manufacturing partner for his unique twist on a classic firearm design. In the middle of his prototyping phase, he has designed something equally unique: a 3D Printed Receiver for Ruger 10/22 style rimfire rifles.

Ruger Unveils their 3rd 10/22 in Collector's Series: Man's Best Friend
Many of us may have forgotten about Ruger’s Collector’s Series because a new model does not come out very often. The last model to have been released to the public was back on June 19th, 2015. Each new model within this line-up of the Collector’s Series is meant to be distinctive and truly unique from their expansive current iterations of 10/22 rifles. The 3rd model from Ruger’s Collector’s Series is called Man’s Best Friend commemorating the many dogs, hunting partners, and companions in our lives. On October 22nd – 10/22 – We Celebrate Ruger Day!
This is the second year that us folks in the firearm industry are celebrating October 22nd (10/22) as “ Ruger Day!” by paying homage to the iconic rimfire rifle we all love. On February 23rd (02/23) we honor the .223 Rem cartridge. On March 8th (03/08) we recognize the .308 Win cartridge. So on October 22nd (10/22) it is now becoming a tradition to declare our love for the Ruger 10/22 rifle.
NEW Radical Rimfire: Ruger 10/22 Target Lite
Ruger‘s most famous firearm in their storied line-up is without a doubt the 10/22. They offer an extensive line of nearly every stock, barrel contour and finish imaginable. The Ruger 10/22 is so popular that multiple high-end, custom shops have sprung up that tailor specifically to this rifle. Now, in a somewhat surprising move Ruger is offering a near custom shop quality rimfire rifle of their own. The new 10/22 Target Lite has the appearance straight out of a rimfire shooter’s dream.
Magpul Shipping Hunter X-22 Take-Down Stocks
Announced with little fanfare at the NRA Annual Exposition 2016, Magpul has announced that that Hunter X-22 stock is now shipping to dealers and available for direct retail order. The new stock adapts Magpul’s Hunter stock geometry for the Ruger 10/22 take-down to create an utterly fantastic system.
Magpul Hunter X-22 Stock Now Shipping
Magpul showed off their Hunter X-22 stock for the Ruger 10/22 earlier this year, well now they’re finally available. The Hunter X-22 is made in the USA and retails for $139.95, currently it’s only available in black or Flat Dark Earth. It’s made out of reinforced polymer and features an adjustable length of pull and ergonomic grip. It weights in at 2.4lbs with both stock spacers installed. Check them out at Magpul.com.
