Does the FN Pistol Compensator Kit Actually Work?
In this episode of TFBTV, Nic takes FN’s Quick Detach Pistol Compensator to the range for a hands-on test. We’ll see if a QD pistol compensator really reduces recoil and muzzle flip as advertised. Does it improve control and accuracy, or is it just another pointless and pricey accessory? Watch to find out!

Stemming from his childhood love of WWII history, Nic's passion for firearms continues to grow as his maturity level recedes. He has competed in local USPSA, IDPA, and rifle competitions, and has an almost unnatural affection for Rosie, his Gen3 Glock 19. @the_brutal_rooster

The Strike Industries 'Mass Driver' is another interesting comp that does not use a threaded barrel. In fact it does not attach to the barrel. Very different but it does work. Langdon Tactical also has a rail mounted comp for the PX4, really interesting.
They work on Race guns that produce a tremendous amount of gas. Range ammunition unless it is +P+ will not make enough gas to drive these little two and four-port comps. It is 'perceived recoil', they trick your brain to think the pistol recoils less. A Placebo effect. The same gun, same ammunition, blindfold test, with comp and without. A five out of 10 sample would convince me. Most comps from the factory are a marketing ploy to put some uptick in sales numbers, the aftermarket was quick to jump into the marketplace to attract Range Boys, you know those that just want to impress their girlfriends or buddies, the ones who never shoot with a clock or a plan to improve their skillset and want to look like John Wick.
