Chad Enos of Kel-Tec is posing with his Gen 2 Sub2000. It has a red dot and Kel-Tec flashlight attached to the side. I like the framing of the side view mirror so you can see what he is aiming at. It is clever mise-en-scène.
I mounted the brand new Zeiss V8 4.8-35×60 on a rifle (Ruger Precision Rifle) and wanted to see how it behaved in twilight and darkness. On a fairly clear night, there were some light, thin clouds, I pointed the setup towards the moon. I have to say I’m very [Read More…]
I was perusing a nearby Walmart that I don’t frequent that often. I walked into the sporting goods department to see if they might have 8mm Mauser ammo. They did not but then I saw they have American Eagle .50 BMG 660gr ammo. Huh, never would have thought to go to [Read More…]
Today’s Photo of the Day is something spectacular. A time machine back to WW2. I visited a friend, we started talking, had some cookies and coffee. Talk was good. But no coffee without guns, so my friend places his new purchase on the table. I’m not [Read More…]
The Waitasaurus Rex has been floating around the internet for a couple of days now, but damn if it isn’t funny. As we all know, with the implementation of the new ATF rule 41F, wait times for NFA items are expected to increase to unprecedented levels. Right now [Read More…]
This is a rather rare AK74 magazine that is a quad stack. Similar in concept to the SureFire 60rd quad stack magazines. I am told it holds 60 rounds of 5.45x39mm.
An art foundation has put an ammo test on display in the Presidio of San Francisco. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, the display is the result of an AK47 bullet smashing into an M16 bullet. So probably 7.62x39mm vs 5.56x45mm. I am curious about the origins of [Read More…]

This photo was posted from a Minnesota gun buy back. I have to hand it to the person that created this masterpiece. The serial number is particularly amusing. Looks like a creation by Royal Nonesuch. According to the article, one person they interviewed is using his [Read More…]
Jim Fuller of Rifle Dynamics posted this up on a facebook group called EDC – Every Day Carbine. Not an M-4 but still my EDC carbine. If you notice he has twin Emerson knives and two glocks. One is a gen 2 Glock. You can tell due to the lack of an accessory rail on [Read More…]
At first glance I was a bit confused by this photo. The Lancer mags show us the rounds and they are huge. Since it appears to be single stack with ballistic tips I thought this was some bizzare pistol caliber round. Nope it is .458 SOCOM. Below is a photo comparing 5.56 [Read More…]
My friend Brian M. sent this picture to me. He and I always like higher capacity especially for USPSA and 3Gun. Around the same time as my Scorpion Evo3 +10 extension, Brian had the idea to make an extension for Colt/UZI SMG magazines. It is a +8rd extension making the [Read More…]
Gear Head Works posted this on Facebook. How about a SBR X95? Is this short enough? It will be 17.75″ when it gets the original slim butt from IWI. About a 9″ barrel. Custom machined forearm, trigger gaurd and IDF Tavor gas tube with an IDF Meprolight. Of [Read More…]
Here is an interesting customization. Offset iron sights for when shooting your handgun sideways. The gun appears to be a Hi-Point hydrodipped in hundred dollar bills. Now while many of us may jump to the conclusion that this is for the gangster to more accurately shoot [Read More…]
A military group requested a heat shield on the barrels to protect slings, cables and pouches. Since the Micro Gun is so short it would be easy to swing it and have it touch something. Here is what Empty Shell came up with. It looks slick.
I have not seen destruction of an AR upper receiver like this before. The left side of the upper receiver has been peeled open almost like a banana peel. Marky of Tactical Tshirts condemns the cartridge because it is too easy to mix up ammo and have a catastrophic [Read More…]
For those not familiar with the ARES SCR, it is a lower receiver that has a buffer system similar to a semi auto shotgun. Check out James Reeve’s review. The reasoning for this is help those in restrictive states have an option that is not a Nike Swoosh stock or [Read More…]
Solar Tactical posted this image on their Facebook page. It is another example of someone tucking a muzzle brake behind a long handguard. As we have seen in other examples, the handguard does not do well with containing the concussive forces of the muzzle brake. Does [Read More…]

Chad Enos of Kel-Tec recently posted this up. A Navy Blue Sub2000 Gen2. Not too many blue carbines out there other than a couple custom jobs and the Iron Patriot AR from JP Enterprises. It is certainly different and it actually looks rather good. I may have to send my [Read More…]
Found this gem on Instagram @axis_and_allies45 This is an extremely rare example of a Luger P08 “Nachtpistole” (Night pistol) that was used by Hitler’s personal Leibstandarte-ϟϟ security detail. Decades ahead of its time, like many Nazi inventions, [Read More…]
The photo is a long exposure of a gun ship, most likely an AC-130 Spooky, raining down a whole lot of damage and pain. Due to the rather precise nature of its targeting system, the AC-130 can fly in a counter clockwise “pivot turn”circles concentrating fire [Read More…]
