POTD: Eager Lion Squad Attack Tactics
Over time, TFB’s Photo Of The Day has become an impressive gallery, with an ever-growing number of images of firearms in all sorts of environments. We’re now looking at images from Titin in Jordan, where U.S. Marines assigned to Fleet Anti-Terrorism Security Team Central Command (FASTCENT) conduct a live-fire squad attack. The images are from the Exercise Eager Lion 22.
POTD: US and Cote d'Ivoire Special Operations Forces
Let’s go to Jacqueville in Cote d’Ivoire, or The Ivory Coast (Africa), for our Photo Of The Day. We see U.S. and Côte d’Ivoire special operations forces conduct a Joint Combined Exchange Training (JCET). JCETs like these are intended to enhance U.S. relationships with partner nations by developing and maintaining critical military-to-military connections and improving joint and allied readiness and interoperability.
POTD: Jordanian Maritime Counter Terrorism Team
TFB’s Photo Of The Day and we find ourselves in Aqaba, Jordan, where Jordanian service members assigned to the Maritime Counter Terrorism Team, maintain security at a pier during close-quarter battle drills. This happened during the Eager Lion training exercise in September 2022.
POTD: A Mass Communications Specialist in the Field
Photo Of The Day and we take a look at some of the heroes that make this endless series of articles go on – the photographers. Above you see U.S. Army Spc. Donovon Lynch, a Mass Communications Specialist assigned to the Viper Team at the Joint Multinational Readiness Center. He’s taking photos of paratroopers during Exercise Saber Junction 22 in Hohenfels, Germany, on September 7, 2022.
POTD: Bulletstorm II – Swedish Championship in IPSC PCC
Photo Of The Day and we have a bunch of action shots from Bulletstorm II, the first Swedish Championship in IPSC PCC (Pistol Caliber Carbine). A two-day, twelve-stage, level three competition with over 200 competitors and 30 teams. All the team fees were donated to Ukraine.
POTD: Swedish & U.S. Marines Light Up Their H&Ks
It’s time for another Photo Of The Day, and we can’t express enough gratitude to soldiers and photographers who capture moments like this when the shooting range is lit up by the muzzle blast from rarely seen firearms. In this case, we have the Heckler & Koch G36C in the hands of U.S. Marines and Swedish Marines at the Berga Naval Base, Sweden. And as you notice, that’s not the only H&K in these images.
POTD: Flintlock Key Pistol
Today we have a picture of a single-shot muzzleloading flintlock key pistol provided by Bonhams Skinner auctions. This early 19th-century discreet weapon is consigned to the Bonhams Skinner Early Militaria Collections auction which will be held on September 28, 2022, in Skinner Marlborough auction house.
POTD: VIS-a-VIS
Today’s Photo Of The Day is a picture by Tactical Imports Corporation (Canada) showing two Polish FB “Łucznik” Radom 9mm pistols – the VIS 35 and VIS 100M1. The former was designed in 1930 and adopted by the Polish Army in 1936. The latter, VIS 100M1, is the civilian version of the VIS 100 pistol which was adopted by the Polish Army in 2019. The VIS 100M1 has recently crossed the pond and is now available in the USA and Canada.
POTD: Sharps Bros Lower Receivers
Today’s Photo Of The Day is a family picture! Above you can see all Sharps Bros lower receivers that have a custom magwell design. From left to right we have the Warthog, Overthrow, Showdown, The Jack and Hellbreaker. The picture is only missing the only normal member of the family, the Livewire.

Photo Of The Day: Today we have some futuristic-looking images from SK Group’s Meprolight and their Tigon, a hybrid thermal & red dot sight for day & night target acquisition. As you can see, the Meprolight Tigon is mounted on an FN SCAR.
POTD: Finland's 9.00 Submachine Gun 2000 (H&K MP5)
Photo Of The Day and this is the fifth in a series of articles TFB is doing on the firearms used by the Finnish Army. The 9.00 Submachine Gun 2000 is used by the Finnish Border Guards, the Finnish Police and the Finnish Defence Forces. It is otherwise much more well known as the 9x19mm Heckler & Koch MP5, but each country gets to designate its own firearms.

Welcome to TFB’s full auto Photo Of The Day! Shooting full auto is something everyone wants to do, as often as possible. In reality, only a few get to do it, ever. I’ve only shot full auto a few times in the military, and once in the deserts of Nevada.

POTD: The M16A4 Service Rifle
Photo Of The Day: At the range, where the cardboard targets never give up. They keep on coming wave after wave, in a completely fearless way. Above you see U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Jonathan Sutchen, a network administrator with Combat Logistics Battalion 4, Combat Logistics Regiment 3, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, as he fires his M16A4 service rifle. The M16A4 is a semi-automatic select fire rifle, with the ability to fire in semi-auto and three-round burst modes.
POTD: Republic of Korea Navy SEALs
The year 2022 started with a bang and lingers on, and our Photo Of The Day has never been so diversified. We’ve been from Novosibirsk, driven hunts to the Japanese jungle and we still have several months to go before the year is over. Today we have members of the Republic of Korea Navy Special Warfare Flotilla (UDT/SEAL) and United States Army Special Forces (Green Berets) performing a helocast and MOUT training during RIMPAC 2022.

The number of internet users worldwide will soon reach reach the 5-billion mark. Our world has never been so connected. Great photos can spread like wildfire, but the story and the necessary context sometimes gets left behind. But not in TFB’s Photo Of The Day. POTD: Multiple Weapons Sustainment Training in Japan
In this Photo Of The Day we have a happy team of U.S. Marines and Naval personnel with the Special Reaction Team, Headquarters and Support Battalion, Marine Corps Installations Pacific. They’re posing for photos during multiple weapons sustainment training earlier this year. The location is Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan. Camp Hansen is named for the Medal of Honor recipient Dale M. Hansen. Hansen was killed by a Japanese sniper’s bullet three days after his actions on Hill 60, during the Battle of Okinawa.
POTD: Visit, Board, Search and Seizure in the Philippine Sea
This Photo Of The Day is rather eye-catching, isn’t it? Where are the firearms you may ask? They are located right underneath for your viewing pleasure. Above you see a U.S. Marine with the Force Reconnaissance Platoon, 3rd Marine Division, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit. He uses a metal saw to breach a steel plate aboard Expeditionary Mobile Base USS Miguel Keith (ESB-5) during a visit, board, search and seizure exercise in the Philippine Sea, in August 2022.
POTD: .50-Caliber Machine Gun Aboard USS Frank Cable
We have been running our very special Photo Of The Day series for years, sharing great photos from around the world and the world of firearms. Sometimes the selected pictures involve a lot of action and shooting, sometimes there’s another reason behind the choice. Today we’re looking at a .50 caliber machine gun spitting out lead, brass and gunpowder of the Philippine Sea. The man behind the trigger is Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Christian Freda and they’re aboard the USS Frank Cable during a training exercise.
POTD: Mortars! Best Squad Competition at Grafenwoehr Training Area
A great photo is often produced by being at the right time and place and using the perfect exposure. Today the photographer really managed to freeze the moment as the grenade exits the tube of the mortar. In today’s Photo Of The Day, we see U.S. Army Spc. Alejandro Ramirez (left) and Spc. Michael Hatzioannou, assigned to the 1st Squadron 91st Cavalry Regiment, 173rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team(Airborne). They’re firing mortar rounds during the U.S. Army Europe and Africa Best Squad Competition at Grafenwoehr Training Area, Germany. This happened in August 2022.
POTD: M2 Bradley with M242 Bushmaster 25mm Autocannon
Photo Of The Day: We’re in Poland looking at troops with the 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division. Their Bradley fighting vehicle is firing the M242 Bushmaster 25mm autocannon in order to zero the vehicle’s weapons systems at a range.

POTD: German Snipers in European Best Sniper Team Competition
It’s time for TFB’s Photo Of The Day where we do our best to display the excellent work done by so many photographers around the world. These images are from Die Bundeswehr in Bayern and show German Snipers in the European Best Sniper Team Competition. There were soldiers from the 231st Mountain Infantry Battalion and the 26th Parachute Regiment competing at the Hohenfels military training area. At the end of the event, the team from Greece won.
POTD: Australian Enhanced F88 in Super Garuda Shield
Photo Of The Day and we take off to the Combat Training Center, Baturaja, Indonesia. We see soldiers from Australia, Singapore, Indonesia and the United States conducting a multinational field training exercise as part of Exercise Super Garuda Shield.
POTD: U.S. Marines with Laser Beams
If you don’t know the distance to your target, it’s not impossible but difficult to hit it in most cases. Above you see U.S. Marine Corps 1st Lt. Robert Rogers, a combat engineer officer with 3rd Maintenance Battalion, 3rd Sustainment Group, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, as he fires an M4 carbine. It’s a pretty cool image with gun smoke and a visible red laser, just the way I think most of our readers like our POTDs to be. The location is Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, Aug. 16, 2022.
POTD: The Perfect Wedding?!
Is this the perfect wedding ceremony? In this picture, the groom carrying the brand new Voere GGS M1 which is a modular rifle that German Gun Stock is making together with Voere. It’s chambered in .338 Lapua Magnum and has a GGS VelociRaptor stock painted in RAL8000. The bride is showing her Tikka T3 Super Varmint in .300WSM with a GGS Raptor stock in Arctic camouflage. The rifle scopes are Athlon Ares ETR 4.5-30×56.
POTD: Smith & Wesson Model 350 Revolver
For today’s Photo Of The Day, we have pictures of the new Smith & Wesson Model 350 revolver, the first commercially available revolver chambered in .350 Legend. Built on Smith & Wesson’s largest X-Frame, the Model 350 has a 7-round cylinder and utilizes moon clips due to the rimless design of the .350 Legend cartridge case.
