Ruger Lays Off 50 Employees Across Several Locations

It was announced on Friday, January 5th that Ruger would be laying off in total 50 employees. Most of the positions being laid off are not directly tied to manufacturing or the production of firearms. It will primarily be roles in sales, engineering and marketing.

BREAKING: Federal Premium Lays Off 200 More Employees; 2017 Total Grows to 310

Exactly one week ago, on October 6th, Federal Premium laid off 200 more employees. Employees were notified of this through group meetings that were held on Thursday, October 5th and Friday, October 6th. The layoffs affect 190 hourly workers from the factory floor and 10 jobs from Federal Premium’s human resources, IT and legal departments who were on salary. All the affected employees were offered severance packages and outplacement assistance.

SCCY is Moving to Maryville, Tennessee

Various news organizations are reporting Daytona Beach, Florida-based SCCY Industries, LLC, makers of the CPX pistol line, are moving to Maryville, Tennessee in Blount County. Local Maryville and Daytona papers  are reporting that the handgun manufacturer is moving its headquarters and manufacturing to a new 75,000 square foot plant on a 68 acre campus in the Big Spring Industrial Park as soon as 2018.
