POTD: G44 Silver Line & G44 Golden Line

If you visit Glock’s global website (eu.glock.com), you can find there versions of their pistols that can not be found on the company’s US website (us.glock.com). One example is the  Glock G17 Gen5 FR Coyote, the civilian version of the French contract G17 pistol. Another example is what we have for today’s Photo Of The Day – two special edition Glock 44 pistols called G44 Silver Line and G44 Golden Line. A Monster Doublestack 10mm 2011: EAA Hunter

James Reeves is at IWA 2024 to check out the Girsan Hunter (being imported to the US as the EAA Hunter), which is one big iron. A double stack 10mm 2011 pistol, the Girsan holds 15+1 rounds of 10mm and with a huge 6-inch barrel, this 10mm will pack a punch, and because it’s Girsan, it will likely be a good deal, too (price TBD). Will this compete with higher-end models like Stacatto or BUL? We’ll see, as the 10mm double stack 2011 is not a common pistol.

New Apache 1911 from Watchtower Firearms Is In Production

Watchtower Firearms is a new gun company that emerged out of Texas in 2023. The brand name is an homage to the US military forces who fought in the Pacific Theater during World War II’s Guadalcanal Campaign, which was codenamed Operation Watchtower. Among other products, the company is launching a menu of AR-style offerings as well as one initial handgun model, which they have named the Apache. The Apache is a double-stack 1911 that is designed and marketed chiefly with the competitive shooter in mind.
