This is a combination of all the best elements of the TX22 lineup, pairing the slide-mounted optic of the TX22 Compact with the heavier barrel of the TX22 Comp. And just for good measure, it comes with a new 22-round extended magazine.
POTD: Turning In My Issued Pistol- It May Have Been My Last
The Glock 17 Gen 5 MOS you see above was my last issued pistol, which I had to give up once I resigned after 15 years with my police department. Of my 21-year career in law enforcement, this was the fourth pistol I was issued, not including my personal Glock 22 I carried on duty for years. Of all the Glocks I’ve carried on duty, this Glock 17 Gen 5 MOS has been my favorite!
NEW Walther PDP Pro-ACRO: LE Proven, Now Available for Civilians
The Walther PDP Pro-ACRO used to be a pistol that was relegated to law enforcement only, but now it has been released to the public for consumer sales so we all can enjoy this duty-proven pistol. People like to throw around the buzzword “Glock killer” within the firearms industry, and if there ever was such a pistol, this could be it.
Concealed Carry Corner: Optimal Versus Realistic Carry Guns
Welcome back to another edition of Concealed Carry Corner. Last week, we looked at an accessory guide for summer carry guns. If you happened to miss that article, be sure to click the link here to give it a read. This caused a couple of good questions from readers about optimal carrying guns and how to figure out what kind of handgun you should carry daily. These questions made me start thinking about some of the drastic differences an optimal carry gun is compared to something realistic to carry daily. Let’s take a closer look at optimal versus realistic carry guns.
HOT GAT or FUDD CRAP? Colt Magic or Ruined Classic?
Welcome everyone to the 234th edition of ‘Hot Gat or Fudd Crap?’, one of our many series here on TFB. If you’re new to the series, this is where we look at the most obscure firearms that are actually for sale and ask the question – is this Gat a sweet deal or only have Fudd appeal? Each week the TFB staff weighs in with their thoughts, but readers get the final say in the poll at the bottom of each article.
TFB Review: Jacob Grey TWC 9 – A High-flying 2011
In retrospect, 2023 may have been the year of the 2011. Manufacturers big and small brought out models both cheap and expensive. Relative newcomer Jacob Grey Firearms was part of that trend with the TWC 9. When they offered to send one to TFB for review, I jumped at the opportunity to take it for a spin.
TFB Review: The Smith & Wesson Model 686 Plus Deluxe
When it comes to revolvers, Smith & Wesson is one of the names associated with quality revolvers but as semi-autos are taking over more and more of the market, I have a few of their various revolver models, but never dove into any of the 686 variants and decided to dive into a new model and give it a proper shakedown. Brownells had a 3″ 686 Plus model on sale and I decided to snag it for this review. Let’s take a closer look at the Smith & Wesson 686 Plus Deluxe.
HOT GAT or FUDD CRAP? Green Machine or Hopelessly Obscene?
Welcome everyone to the 230th edition of ‘Hot Gat or Fudd Crap?’, one of our many series here on TFB. If you’re new to the series, this is where we look at the most obscure firearms that are actually for sale and ask the question – is this Gat a sweet deal or only have Fudd appeal? Each week the TFB staff weighs in with their thoughts, but readers get the final say in the poll at the bottom of each article.

The Rimfire Report: The Strange Beretta U22 NEOS Pistol
Welcome back to TFB’s Rimfire Report, where we cover all things relating to rimfire cartridges. This week, we’ll take a jump back to the time when Beretta decided to create a pistol with a frame-mounted safety. All joking aside though, we’ll take a look at the science fiction-styled Beretta U22 NEOS chambered in .22LR. Even though the Beretta NEOS has since been discontinued, you can still find them for sale here and there at decent prices and Beretta still stocks some parts. Let’s take a look.

Concealed Carry Corner: Training With Your Carry Gun
Welcome back to another edition of Concealed Carry Corner. Last week, we talked about small semi-auto pistols versus revolvers and the benefits of both systems. If you happened to miss that article, be sure to check it out by clicking the link here. This week, I want to talk about a topic we all know but rarely address when it comes to actually training with your carry gun. Of course, people go out and shoot at the range but most times it’s everything but the gun they carry daily. Although it’s probably one of the most important items to practice with, most of us pick full-size options instead of training with our actual everyday carry gun. Let’s take a closer look at training with your carry gun.

My First Pistol Match: CMP Excellence In Competition .22LR and Service Pistol
I have been getting into competition shooting over the last couple of years, but only rifle matches. That changed recently with a local pistol match. I shot a Civilian Marksmanship Program Excellence in Competition (EIC) match with both a service pistol and .22 rimfire. It was an illuminating experience and will not be my last pistol match.
SK Customs Unveils 3rd Edition of the Untamed Series – Luchando Tigre
SK Customs has announced the third edition of their “Untamed” handgun series with the Luchando Tigre being debuted via the Colt 1911 platform. A pistol that looks befitting of the social media phenomenon Tiger King (of Netflix fame), this handgun is chambered for .38 Super and only 200 of them are set to be produced.
POTD: G-Plated Glock 43X – Reptilia Corp
Photo Of The Day and let’s take a look at the Glock 43X and the Sig ROMEO Zero Elite in a marriage through Reptilia Corp‘s G-Plate. My history with my Glock 43 didn’t last too long. For sure it’s very compact, but I live in a country where carrying a firearm is not permitted unless it’s a very specific case (read: impossible). Also, the amount of handguns I’m allowed to own is limited, so I found something with a more competitive edge to replace it. I still miss it though, and I would have loved to try it with a red dot. So when I found these images, I thought they had to be shared.
The Rimfire Report: The SIG P322-COMP – Worth the Extra $$$?
Hello and welcome back to another edition of The Rimfire Report! This ongoing series is all bout the rimfire firearm world and all of its different guns, ammunition types, shooting sports, and history. SIG Sauer has recently released a new iteration of their successful P322 pistol – the P322-COMP. I want to start off this week by making it 100% clear that I am completely biased in favor of the P322 pistol already as I personally feel like it has been the single greatest semi-auto 22LR pistol to be released in the last decade. The P322 is an excellent cheap, optics-ready, suppressor-ready package that costs less than $500 – who doesn’t like a good cheap gun? Even with all of that being said, something new like the P322-COMP needs to show us it’s worth the extra dough that SIG is asking for – about $200 or more according to online pricing. I was recently able to take both my original SIG Sauer P322 and the new P322-COMP out to the range to shoot them both side by side to see if the extra features and components are worth the money.

TFB Review: TYPE-A EG-19 Pistol – Part 2
The EG-19 is TYPE-A’s take on a modified Glock 19. It comes with a number of upgrades over a standard Glock 19 that certainly improve the overall shooting experience and feel of the pistol in my opinion. Back in December I first got my hands on the TYPE-A EG-19 pistol and on Wednesday we published the first part of my review of this pistol. This is Part 2 of the TYPE-A EG-19 pistol review.
Concealed Carry Corner: Small Semi-Autos Vs Revolvers
Welcome back to another edition of Concealed Carry Corner. Last week, we talked about some carry tips that make a big difference to carry comfort. If you happened to miss that article, be sure to click the link here to check it out. This week, I recently picked up another Smith & Wesson 686 and started wondering if revolvers are still a viable option with the unlimited options of semi-auto pistols on the market for the concealed carry space. While most revolvers are outclassed, there are a few specific benefits to having a revolver over something like a semi-auto. Semi-autos certainly have their own benefits though. let’s take a closer look at the benefits of small semi-autos vs revolvers.
TFB Review: TYPE-A EG-19 Pistol – Part 1
Back in December I first got my hands on the TYPE-A EG-19 pistol and was pretty enthralled with it. I still like this pistol overall but in the course of the past few months, a few blemishes have formed that make this pistol not as attractive to me. The EG-19 is TYPE-A’s take on a modified Glock 19 as I’m sure you could have guessed from its name. It comes with a number of upgrades over a standard Glock 19 that certainly improve the overall shooting experience and feel of the pistol in my opinion.
HOT GAT or FUDD CRAP? Customized Classic or Hopelessly Tragic?
Welcome everyone to the 229th edition of ‘Hot Gat or Fudd Crap?’, one of our many series here on TFB. If you’re new to the series, this is where we look at the most obscure firearms that are actually for sale and ask the question – is this Gat a sweet deal or only have Fudd appeal? TFB Review: 1,000 Rounds On The Beretta 80x – Part I
The Beretta 80x was a major surprise when it was announced at SHOT Show 2023. The Cheetah line was pretty popular a few decades ago, but it seemed that the days of bigger-than-mouse-gun .380 ACP pistols were gone. So how does the 80x stack up? Is there a place for a pistol like this in 2024?
