British Army Adopts Carl Gustaf Recoilless Rifle – Again!
Back in 1963, the British Army adopted the M2 Carl Gustaf 84mm recoilless rifle. It served with various units right through into the 1990s when it was replaced by lighter, single-use munitions. The British Army replaced the M2 with the LAW 80 which has since been surpassed by the NLAW. Yesterday, it was announced that the British Army would once again be procuring the Carl Gustaf, this time the much improved M4 variant.

The AR-15 is popular for so many reasons. One of the big ones is ergonomics. The AR pistol grip has become so popular, that even precision rifle manufacturers are making them standard on their guns. One particular firearm has had some mixed reviews about its grip, and now, it’s getting the Strike Industries treatment. If you own a CZ Scorpion EVO and don’t like the grip, you’re in luck. Strike Industries has released its new AR Pistol Grip Adapter for the CZ Scorpion.
Concealed Carry Corner: When Things Completely Break
Welcome back to another edition of Concealed Carry Corner. Last week, we talked about the problems of carrying an ultra-lightweight pistol. If you happened to miss that article, or want to check it out be sure to click the link here for more information. This week, I wanted to talk about something we all eventually go through if we carry a firearm every day. Murphy’s law states that anything which can go wrong will go wrong and some days that’s the absolute truth. all kinds of things can break if you put them under heavy use or just use them daily. Over time things wear out and it’s important to keep an eye out for these signs. Let’s take a closer look at what you can do to avoid the moment when things completely break.
New Samson Manufacturing AK-47 RSR2 (Rear Sight Rail) for Aimpoints
As much stuff as we cover during SHOT Show, we somehow always manage to miss something cool that was launched at the show. One thing I just found out about is the new Samson Manufacturing AK-47 RSR2 or Rear Sight Rail. This all-steel mounting solution for the Aimpoint T-1 and T2 red dot sights is a simple direct mount option that allows the user to replace their AK-47 rear sight with an RDS compatible direct mount which also features a co-witness notch so that the front sight post can still be used in case the red dot fails or is off.

New Training Shot Timer from MDT
MDT has released a Training Shot Timer for shooters of all skill levels. The timer can be used with a wide range of rifles and calibers, as well as for your dry fire practice. The device stores all shooting data and links with an accompanying app, allowing users to film video with real-time statistics and share it on social media. At the recent IWA exhibition in Germany, I had a demo of how it can be used. I’m not usually impressed with timers, but as a competitor and instructor, I noticed a lot of features that could be used not only by myself but also to instruct others to become better.
Firearms of Cinema: Guns from "The Book of Eli"
If you’re anything like me, then movies have been a huge influence on your love for firearms. Whether it’s classic movies like Heat, Die Hard, or True Lies, all of these movies made an impression on me when it comes to what I thought was a cool movie firearm. One of the newer movies on the list, Denzel Washington’s post-apocalypse action movie The Book of Eli, is another great example of a movie full of cool guns. While there is everything from full autos to a civil war era Gatling gun, I want to focus on the main character’s firearms and why he may have chosen them. Let’s take a closer look at the guns from The Book of Eli.

Hello and welcome back to another edition of The Rimfire Report! This ongoing series is all about the rimfire firearm world and its many different types of guns, gear, ammunition types, and history. Last week we departed from our normal rimfire coverage to talk about a slightly related ammunition called Pinfire ammunition. A lot of you seemed to be interested in the idea and if I get the chance, I’ll do my best to get a hold of some firearms and ammunition so we can take a much closer look at them for ourselves. This week we are getting back into more dedicated rimfire stuff with the Tactical Solutions XRT Drop-In 10/22 Trigger. This aftermarket 10/22 trigger pack launched right at the end of 2022 and is a world apart from a lot of the aftermarket triggers I’ve come across. Today we’ll check out its specifications and features, and report on the range experiences I’ve had so far with it to give you an idea of this is the type of trigger you’d want to pick up for your 10/22.
TFB Weekly Web Deals 43: Get Lucky with Post-St. Paddy's Day Deals
Welcome to TFB Weekly Web Deals 43! I hope everyone’s St. Patrick’s Day weekend was not only full of many libations and good conversations, but also plenty of shooting! The Irish certainly had their own influence on the modern firearms culture we see in the world today and in fact, the Irish were some of the first people to document the use of arquebuses by German mercenarians operating in Dublin in the latter half of the 15th century. A more familiar and modern influence from Ireland comes from John Rigby when he founded John Rigby & Co Gunmakers Limited in 1775. Today Rigby makes very high-end hunting rifles and is now under the ownership of the L&O Group, which also owns Blaser, Sauer, and Mauser. Anyway, this has nothing to do with any of the deals that we’ve gathered for you today, but I did want to share this tiny bit of Irish firearms history with you all! Enjoy this week’s deals in TFB Weekly Web Deals 43!

Concealed Carry Corner: Great Concealed Carry Shooting Drills
Welcome back to another edition of Concealed Carry Corner. Last week, we talked about overcoming flight or flight impulses like tunnel vision and auditory exclusion. If you missed that article, be sure to check it out by clicking on the link here. This week, I wanted to talk about something relatively important when it comes to carrying concealed. We oftentimes can get so much out of dry firing but working on those skills at home only do so much. It really takes getting out to the range to practice all the skills together to become proficient. Ammo prices are thankfully coming down so I figured I would add my absolute favorite drills at the moment when it comes to helping train concealed carriers. Let’s take a closer look at some great concealed carry shooting drills.
TFB Behind The Gun Podcast #60: Jason with Backup Tactical
Even with both Pete and I handling TFB’s Behind The Gun Podcast, we’re not exactly able to get to everyone we want to at SHOT Show every year. Jason with Backup Tactical is one of those people but I’m glad we’re getting him on the show today because he’s quite honestly one of the most upbeat and positive people I’ve met within the industry. Jason is the owner of Backup Tactical, a company that produces high-quality, American-made aftermarket barrels, thread protectors, and now compensators for handguns. Today Jason and I talk some general shop about guns and the 2nd Amendment, as well as Jason’s thoughts and development process behind their new SIG Sauer P320 Precise Fit PROComp. If you pay attention to this episode, you’ll also get a sneak peek at their next product coming in 2023.
[EnforceTac 2023] Concamo & Ghosthood – Confusion Camouflage System
Last year I reviewed the Concamo Ghosthood and some of the components in their Confusion Camouflage System. I was quite satisfied with the quality and performance of their products, and their camoflage which consists of 25 superimposed layers which create a “chaotic illusion”. They claim that the subconscious mind is overwhelmed by the camouflage pattern, and begins to discern natural shapes in it.

Let’s take a closer look at overcoming fight or flight.
TFB Review: BFG Micro Trauma Kit NOW! Saved My Ass
Back in September 2021 some of the TFB crew were in Refugio Texas for an event. At that event, Brad Gilpin of Blue Force Gear taught us a combat medicine course. Basically how to treat gunshot wounds. At the end of the course, we all got our own Micro Trauma Kits. Brad had set them up with the advanced supplies but he took the chest darts out since we didn’t need those. My Micro Trauma Kit has been sitting unused in my FJ Cruiser and sometimes out on the range with me or in my backpack when I am traveling. I never thought I would have to use it let alone on myself but Murphy’s law reared its ugly head.
