Hogue Knives announced the company was now offering a new button lock, flipper style folding knife called the X1 Microflip. According to the company, the knife has no springs and is 100% a manual flipper. However, the company says it acts a lot like an automatic knife.

Browning announced that its Speed Load Tactical knife is now shipping to customers. This folding knife was introduced earlier this year.

Wilson Combat is a well known 1911 manufacturer who has recently been in the spotlight with the Wilson Combat AR9 9mm AR-15. Since 2000 Bill Wilson has been offering knives under one brand or another and recently Wilson Combat teamed back up with Hogue. This collaboration has resulted in a couple of new, automatic, out-the-front (OTF) knives they are calling the Wilson Combat / Hogue Knives X-TAC OTF Automatic.

Columbia River Knife and Tool recently announced a knew folding knife called the Daktyl. As you can see in the photos, the knife is a bare bones kind of blade that the company claims opens very quickly.

KAI USA Ltd is offering a new knife under the Kershaw brand. Called the Dividend, the new folder is part of the Link series of knives that are all made in the United States of America.

Back in the late 70’s Russia came up with a cool concept. A silent cartridge. You can see the cut away above and below. The long cylinder is the projectile and the red piece under it is the piston. When the primer is struck it ignites the powder like a conventional cartridge. The combustion pushes the piston and that pushes to projectile out. The piston is wide so it cannot get past the neck at the top. This seals the cartridge and the gas cannot escape. This results in very little noise coming from the combustion. It has been reported to have a noise level of only 110 db, similar to a suppressed sub sonic .22lr.

Ok, it’s not a gun. But on the “up side” it could cleave a zombie’s skull in half should you ever find yourself in such a position.

Apparently taking inspiration from beer, KAI USA Ltd is offering a new pair of folding knives called Malt and Hops. Both of these knives are being sold under the Kershaw name.

Designed for hikers, campers and other outdoors folks, the Reverb is a new folding knife being sold by KAI USA Ltd under its Kershaw brand.

Böker introduced a new knife called the Lancer. The Lancer is a relatively compact folding knife that has a very flat appearance.

KAI USA Ltd announced a new automatically opening knife under the Kershaw brand. Called the Launch 7, the knife opens with the push of a button. All of Kershaw’s automatic knives use the name Launch, with this one being the seventh distinctive design.
