POTD: Portuguese Marine With Spuhr Heckler & Koch G3
Photo Of The Day – To the horizon and beyond. Here we see a Portuguese Marine with one of their upgraded Heckler & Koch G3s. The Spuhr upgrades solve the most important issues with the G3, namely the Length of Pull (LOP). Furthermore, this firearm has the Spuhr buttstock, forend and top rail.
The Spuhr upgrades aim to optimize the G3’s compatibility with modern accessories, allowing seamless integration of optics and other attachments. During its development, I had a go at one of Spuhr’s prototypes and having never shot the G3 before, I was thrown into a competition and it did not embarrass me. My shooting club has one, and needless to say, we now run those parts on our beginner’s rifle. Not entirely sure, but the vest on the Marine might be the Snigel Squeeze Plate Carrier, which we just might take a closer look at in the future.
This is not intended as a sales or marketing article, but there are always a few people who will ask for a direct link, for more information and the price. Well, we aim to please so here it is.

Awesome. Sure it's not based on an AR platform, but the G3 will live a very long time as a dedicated marksman rifle, a battle rifle, or both.
I thought they replaced all there G3's with the FN SCAR series?
