Black Hills Ammunition, the manufacturer recognized for its high-quality precision ammo, such as the revered Mk262, announced the addition of new cartridge options to its offerings. Among the latest releases are the .300 Precision Rifle Cartridge (PRC) and new loads for the 6mm Advanced Rifle Cartridge (ARC).

The new .300 PRC from Black Hills Ammunition features two distinct loads. The first load uses a 212-grain Hornady ELD-X bullet designed for hunting, while the second utilizes a 225-grain Hornady ELD Match bullet tailored for target shooting. Each of these options will be available in boxes of 20 rounds and are expected to commence delivery in March.

Product specs for the .300 PRC are as follows:

  • 20 rounds per box
  • 212 ELD-X Velocity: 2,850 feet per second (FPS), with a 24-inch barrel
  • 225 ELD Match Velocity: 2,800 FPS, with a 24-inch barrel

Expanding their product line further, Black Hills introduces additions for the 6mm ARC. This line includes two projectile choices: the 90-grain Dual Performance and the 103-grain Hornady ELD-X. The Dual Performance projectile is notable for its monolithic copper hollow-point design, suitable for both defensive and hunting purposes.

Tech specs for the 6mm ARC loads:

  • 20 rounds per box
  • 103 ELD-X Velocity: 2,550 FPS, with an 18-inch barrel
  • 90 Dual Performance Velocity: 2,650 FPS, with an 18-inch barrel

The 6mm ARC, developed by Hornady, is an intermediate rifle cartridge introduced as a low-recoil, high-accuracy long-range option built for the AR-15 platform, responding to requirements from a specialized group within the U.S. Department of Defense. The 6mm ARC has gained attention for its reduced recoil, and high ballistic efficiency, as it is capable of achieving nearly comparable ballistics to larger 6mm cartridges out of a more compact package, ideal for a standard AR-15 length action.

Black Hills Ammunition’s continued product offerings in a range of calibers, including those once seen as obsolete, have rendered this brand a favored choice among enthusiasts for varied shooting needs. The company’s decision to expand into the rapidly growing 6mm ARC market meets a rising demand among shooters for a versatile, efficient cartridge.
