On this episode, Seth and Matt are joined in the studio by Hornady Sponsored Shooter, Dillen Easley. The guys talk about Dillen’s younger years; specifically, how he got into the shooting sports. They also discuss one of Dillen’s favorite matches, the Hornady Zombies in the Heartland 3-Gun Match and how it differs from other matches across the country. They end the show by talking about the many different ways to find matches to shoot across the country and other ways to get involved in the shooting sports. Dillen is a great Hornady ambassador and it was great having him on our podcast, we hope you enjoy the show!
For avid hunters Tana Grenda and her brother Trevor Schneider, day eight into a planned two-week bear hunt in the remote mountains of Alaska nearly turned deadly. When Trevor’s rifle jammed after taking several shots at a large brown bear from 450 yards, the wounded animal sensed their location and quickly made its approach. Unable to fix the rifle jam, both Tana and Trevor literally feared for their lives as the ferocious bear came charging at them full bore. Luckily, Trevor had his trusty Taurus Raging Hunter™ revolver with him as backup and took the bear down with several well-placed shots before it could land its vicious attack. Jessie and KC sit down with Tana and Trevor as they recount their incredible, awe-inspiring story of survival in the Alaskan wilderness.

In today’s episode of TFB’s Behind The Gun Podcast, I have the privilege of speaking with Mike Detty, the author of “Operation Wide Receiver.” His book exposes the corruption and deceit behind the infamous ATF gun walking scandal that bears its name, as well as the subsequent “Operation Fast and Furious.” I recently had the opportunity to meet Mike in Arizona during a Gunsite event. Although he didn’t initially disclose it, upon hearing someone mention his book, I eagerly inquired about it and discovered that he was actually involved in the precursor event to Operation Fast and Furious—Operation Wide Receiver.
During our conversation on the podcast, Mike recounts his firsthand experiences as a legitimate Federal Firearms Licensee (FFL) who also served as an undercover ATF informant during the operation. He reveals the reasons that compelled him to eventually expose this operation, which ultimately led to the even more notorious Operation Fast and Furious. Join us today as Mike shares detailed explanations from his book, which reads more like a captivating action thriller than a mere retelling of real events. If you’re interested in delving into his book, it is available on Amazon for approximately $13. Please welcome Mike Detty to the program!
That’s it for this week, folks. I hope you enjoyed some or all of these episodes or at least have something to listen to for the rest of your week’s commutes. Let us know what you find interesting about these podcasts and we’ll catch you again next week for another roundup of great firearms podcasts!
