Ed Brown Products specializes in anything and everything 1911. While they started out manufacturing some of the best high-end custom 1911 pistols in the nation, they’ve evolved to become a supplier of not just the guns, but pretty much every part and accessory you can mount to one. Today they’ve just announced the introduction of their new IWB Roughout holster which is able to accept Commander-sized 1911s equipped with red dot sights – a much more common possibility with modern everyday carriers.

The New Ed Brown Roughout IWB Holster for Commander 1911 Pistols
Perry, MO – In addition to making the finest custom pistols, magazines, and parts, Ed Brown also has a line of custom holsters.
Based on a 1967 design and tweaked by Ed Brown to his personal specifications, this rough side out leather holster features a steel reinforced mouth for easier holstering. Having the leather rough-side out secures the holster to the body and helps eliminate unwanted movement. Locking pull-the-dot snaps make it easier to put on or remove. The Roughout has a generous sight channel and is relieved at the front to clear most red dot sights.
Not compatible with a lightrail frame.
The Commander-sized 1911 pistol is still a very popular concealed carry option, although I personally most often see those types of guns being carried IWB. It’s interesting to see that there is another IWB option on the market for people to choose from. The new Ed Brown Products Roughout holster will come in one color (black) and will cost $199.00 from http://edbrown.com/. In addition to the new Roughout Commander Holster, Ed Brown Products also has Lightrail Holster, and OWB Commander Holster options available as well on their website.
