POTD: US Marines with White Star Parachute
A new dawn, new possibilities and another Photo Of The Day. Above you see a U.S. Marine Corps with the Marine Forces Command (MARFORCOM), as he shoots off a white star parachute during exercise Intrepid Maven 23.3. These cartridges are designed for illumination and signaling. This happened in the United Arab Emirates, on May 18, 2023.

Intrepid Maven 23.3 is a Task Force 51/5-led bilateral exercise between MARCENT and the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces designed to improve interoperability, strengthen partner-nation relationships in the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility, and improve both individual and bilateral unit readiness. Vu is a native of Versailles, Kentucky.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is a country located in the southeastern part of the Arabian Peninsula. It is bordered by Saudi Arabia to the west and south, and Oman to the east and northeast, with coastlines along the Arabian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman. The UAE is a federation of seven emirates, with the capital city Abu Dhabi. The UAE has a population of around 9.3 million people as of 2021, with a diverse mix of nationalities and cultures.
