Freedom Munitions X-DEF Line Adds 38 Special
Despite what the keyboard warriors tell you, revolvers are not dead. Plenty of people still carry wheel guns for a variety of reasons, and for that, they need defensive ammunition. Just added to their list of options is an expansion of the Freedom Munitions X-Def line. Now available for your defensive needs, the lineup now includes .38 Special defensive loads.
Freedom Munitions @ TFB:
Freedom’s X-DEF 38 Special hollow point ammunition, like all X-DEF products, has been designed from the ground up by Freedom Munitions with optimum penetration and weight retention in mind. X-DEF ammunition is intended for personal protection and rigorously tested to ensure utmost performance.
Freedom Munitions X-DEF Line Adds 38 Special
The new .38 Special X-Def rounds from Freedom Munitions use the X-Treme Bullets copper-plated,158-grain bonded hollowpoint bullet. The bullets are seated in brass cases. From their own testing, these rounds had an average velocity of 925 FPS when fired through a 6″ barrel. This velocity lead to 13-15″ penetration in ballistic gelatin. Weight retention is high on the list of priorities, and Freedom Munitions claims at least 99% weight retention. A box will run you about $33, but for a box of 50, instead of the usual 20 or 25. If you’d like to step up the power, Freedom Munitions also offers .357 Magnum loads as a part of the X-Def line.

I’d like to see velocity data at 1and7/8ths inch barrel where MOST .38Spl ammo is carried. J Frame, LCR, etc.
Only Sgt Malloy and Officer Reed carry 6” K Frames into danger anymore.
The only 38 Special you will ever need https://uploads.disquscdn.c...
