Above you see a U.S. Marine Corps engineer equipment mechanic with the 2d Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, 2d Marine Division, fire an M4 carbine. This happened during a training exercise with the Marine Corps Shooting Team’s Mobile Training Team on Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, on March 2, 2023. The Mobile Training Team provides unique additional training for Marines in preparation for the Marine Corps Marksmanship Competition. It’s nice to see a soldier with decent hearing protection.

With every pull of the trigger’s might, The M4 unleashes its deadly sight, A force to be reckoned with, a power to behold, In the heat of battle, it never grows old.
Its sleek design, its deadly aim, The M4 rifle is no ordinary game, It’s a tool of freedom, a symbol of might, That stands for justice, in the darkest of night.
From the deserts of the Middle East, To the mountains of Afghanistan, where the air is so sweet, The M4 rifle has been there, to defend and to fight, And to bring hope and peace, in the midst of the night.
So let us honor this weapon, this mighty tool, And the soldiers who wield it, courageous and cool, For they stand on the front lines, with the M4 in hand, Protecting our freedom, and our precious land.
