The FK Brno family of handguns is now a little bigger with the introduction of two new models at SHOT Show 2023 – the PSD-C and PSD-SL.

First up is the PSD-C compact pistol. The existing PSD and Field Pistol are full-size handguns and are at the large end of that category. The PSD-C is comparable to a Glock 19 or similar pistol, with the exception of the protrusion below the barrel. This is the first appearance of the PSD-C in the US, but it was seen at IWA 2022 previously by the TFBtv crew.

The other new PSD model is the PSD-SL or Slim model. The PSD-SL is the same overall size as the standard PSD but has a lightened slide. The weight reduction from additional lightening cuts down the edges of the slide is noticeable while holding the standard PSD and PSD-SL at the same time.

Both of these pistols are chambered in 7.5 FK. This proprietary cartridge pushes a 95-grain projectile at 2,000 FPS from a pistol barrel. It is not cheap, though. A 50-round box of 7.5 FK will run you $95, and the folks at the SHOT Show booth emphasized that the ammo sells out whenever it comes in stock. They also have no plans to put the ammunition on sale any time soon. Thankfully, the PSD-C can be converted to 10mm with a barrel swap, and the PSD-SL can be converted to 10mm or 9mm.
