[SHOT 2023] Military Armament Corporation JSOC 1911

One of the many new products at the SHOT Show industry range day was the Military Armament Corporation JSOC 1911. This 5″ Government model 1911 is a call back to the older styles of done up 1911s with modern machining processes and materials.

Chambered in 45 ACP, this JSOC 1911 features a 416R Stainless Steel Match Grade barrel as well as a skeletonized trigger and hammer. Equipped with a fully adjustable rear sight, beavertail grip safety and ambidextrous thumb safeties, the JSOC 1911 comes fairly tricked out right out of the box. The JSOC 1911 has all the quality upgrades on a 1911 that one could ask for while maintaining that old school feel when firing it. Little details like the brass bead front sight made it feel like theres some old school qualities instead of using a modern fiber or something else. its these little details which stood out to me at the range  when firing it.

Military Armament Corporation’s logo is also proudly displayed on the checkered wood grips on the JSOC 1911, showing off their logo with simplified text on the slide of the handgun as well. It feels like a classic retro style 1911 and shooting it in the hand really felt smooth with good accuracy at 20+ yards. The front checkering and upgraded controls make this feel like a really well equipped 1911 for shooters who want the essentials with none of the unnecessary items. MSRP is yet to be announced but I’m sure it will offer value for money coming from the folks over at MAC.

These JSOC 1911 pistols should see shelf later in the year if all goes well and its something to consider if you are looking for a price friendly but well equipped 1911.
