New Compact Plinker – The TaurusTX 22 Compact 22lr Pistol

The Taurus TX22 has been one of the most successful 22LR pistol releases in the last couple of years. Since its release, the TX22 platform has seen the standard model, and competition model, and now is adding to the lineup with the all-new TaurusTX 22 Compact. The new compact 22LR pistol comes with 13 rounds of standard capacity, an optic-ready slide, and a suppressor-ready barrel which should give it a wide range of uses for rimfire enthusiasts.

Some pics show a gap behind the optic, some show a gap in front of the optic. Ugly, but I'm sure the aftermarket will "fill" in the holes, but seems odd. Maybe they wanted to run sights besides the Shield/HS K-model optic sizes on it.
    I'm in for a non-manual safety version, though I'm still loving the P17 I got for $179.

Taurus has betrayed the Brazilian shooter, the industry/sport/and our civil liberties by asking the new government to restrict firearm and ammo imports. Google for ANIAM carta 2023 and translate it. I wonder what NSSF and foreign manufacturers would think of Taurus/CBC positioning.

    Direct quote from said letter:

    2.3. Import
    - Return to the previous rule, importation only in exceptional cases and as long as there is no similar national product.
    - Revocation of tax incentives.
    - Ensuring equality between domestic and imported products, which today enjoy tax and regulatory benefits and facilities, to the detriment of domestic industry, which, in addition to being unconstitutional, violates the END, approved in the previous government of President Lula.
    - Re-establish inspection of imported products, making marking mandatory on products and their packaging and carrying out control through electronic systems (SICOVEM, SICOFA, SIREM, SIP...).

Buyer beware of this shady maneuvering.
