Faxon Firearms have announced a new line of lightweight AR-15 receiver sets dubbed X-Tra Lite. These receivers are based on the Faxon’s forged AR-15 receivers and are also made of 7075-T6 aluminum, however, thanks to the deleted forward assist, lightening relief cuts and skeletonized magazine well and top Picatinny rail, the X-Tra Lite receiver sets are two ounces lighter than their regular counterparts.

Faxon Firearms X-Tra Lite receivers feature tighter tolerances on lugs for better fitment and a honed internal surface of the upper receiver for smoother cycling of the bolt carrier group. According to the product description, these receivers are compatible with all intermediate cartridges, however, the company also notes that .458 and large bore rounds may not function in the intermediate upper. The X-Tra Lite receivers are Cerakoted with Midnight Bronze, OD Green, and Titanium color options available. The overall weight of the Faxon Firearms X-Tra Lite receiver set is .96 lbs (15.36 oz).
