POTD: Republic of Korea Army Special Warfare Command in California
Photo Of The Day and we have some rare photos of Republic of Korea Special Warfare Command (RoK SWC) service members together with Green Berets from the 3rd Battalion, 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne). They’re pulling security after conducting an attack against an objective. This happened during an exercise at the National Training Center, Fort Irwin, California in July 2022.
It’s hard to tell exactly from these blurry images, but the Korean firearms look like the Daewoo Precision Industries K1A in 5.56×45mm NATO. The K1 originally entered service in 1981.
Below: Republic of Korea Special Warfare Command (RoK SWC) service members assault an objective with Green Berets.
This combined training affords opportunities for Soldiers with RoK SWC and 1st SFG (A) to exchange training tactics and techniques. These exercises continue to strengthen Alliances on the peninsula.
Now you know why they are called the Green Berets. Only kidding, here you see Republic of Korea Special Warfare Command soldiers together with Green Berets under the cover of night.

For any potential readers, the carbines pictured are indeed K1's.
