Welcome everyone to the 165th edition of ‘Hot Gat or Fudd Crap?’, one of our many series here on TFB. If you’re new to the series, this is where we look at the most obscure firearms that are actually for sale and ask the question – is this Gat a sweet deal or only has a Fudd appeal?  Each week the TFB staff weighs in with their thoughts, but readers get the final say in the poll at the bottom of each article.

In our last edition, our poll showed that you, the readers, narrowly decided the custom Henry was fudd crap.

At this time the original auction is still up with the asking price of $2,998 still standing.  We hope this one-of-a-kind lever action can find its way to a new home in the very near future.

In this week’s edition of HGFC, we look at a Mandalorian-themed Glock 26 chambered in 9mm. As is tradition, this sci-fi-inspired gat is currently up for sale on GunBroker for $1,700.

Let’s see what the Staff had to say about this week’s offering:

    “The Roland Special-ed” – Will P.

    “Mando No” – Nick C.

“When you see the gun and the knife together, the gun isn’t actually that bad” – Hop

“This is not the way” – Daniel Y.

“I’m pretty sure that whomever commissioned this has not only never seen the Mandalorian show, but has also never even watched any Star Wars at all. The optic isn’t off center, and there’s no random metal bits attached to this gun at all. I’m not even saying you can’t do a blaster build with a Glock, just make it look like it’d fit in the Star Wars universe!” – Doug E.

Ah, the Glock 26.  This a reminder of how far we have come in recent years when it comes to sub-compact handguns.  I’m not saying the Glock 26 isn’t still great but it has some fierce competition nowadays.  Now that’s not to say this would be better if it were, for example, a Mandalorian-themed SIG P365.  Both guns to me sound great until you add in the whole “themed” bit.  I’ll go so far as to say you shouldn’t theme any of your guns after a subscription-based TV series.  It just seems in poor taste and probably not the best for resale value.  But that is just me, and maybe I’m out of touch with what’s cool nowadays.

Most of this listing does not even feel like a gun listing.  It looks more or less like an attempt to re-use some Instagram photos where the owner was showing off his EDC or knife collection.  I appreciate the enthusiasm, but this feels like a knife advertisement that’s somehow trying to sell me a gun.  As for modifications, they at least appear to be well done.  I will be the first to say I am not on board with comps on carry guns, but the red dot with suppressor height sights was a nice touch.  Too bad the light and optic aren’t included in the price tag.

So what do you think?  Personally, I think the asking price of $1,700 is outlandish.  Theme aside, I really can not imagine spending that much money on a modified Glock 26.  So, as always, I ask you instead.  Is this setup worth it for the price or are you just better off buying a stock Glock 26 and saving your money?  I leave it up to you, the readers, to decide.
