TFB HANDS ON: The B&T SPC10

Unveiled during our recent trip to Switzerland, the B&T SPC10 is the newest member of the Special Purpose Carbine (SPC) lineup.  It carries over features from the SPC family with more AR parts compatibility out of the box.  It even takes Glock mags.  I had a chance to go over the SPC10 and put a few rounds through it and here’s what I found.

The SPC10 is the newest member of B&T’s rapidly growing SPC lineup.  This new variant uses the tried and true Glock 10mm magazines and comes feature-rich right from the factory.

The SPC series builds upon the existing APC series and uses both AR and MP5 pattern controls.  There’s a non-reciprocating charging handle up front that can be swapped to either side and an AR pattern charging handle at the rear.

The blowback design of the SPC10 is paired with the SPC’s hydraulic buffer system.  While this isn’t a review, I will say I was very impressed by how soft shooting the SPC10 was.

The rifle shown was the SBR and showcases an AR buffer tube mounting plate with a removable sling attachment point.  The SPC10 will come as either a pistol or SBR, with pistol variants coming factory with an SBA3 pistol brace.

The 8.9-inch barrelled version shown is optimized for 10mm use and features a tri-lug mount.  The lugs are spaced far enough away from the rail to allow for ample clearance when installing your favorite tri-lug suppressor.

Like the APC10, the SPC10 will use the same lower Glock pattern 15-round 10mm magazines.

All the controls on the lower receiver are fully ambidextrous including this very welcome oversized mag release.

The SPC10 will ship with a B&T pistol grip but will accept any AR pattern pistol grip as well (pictured with a Magpul MOE+ grip).

The SPC10 shown is a pre-production gun and there isn’t a definitive release date at this time.  I think maybe we’ll see a full unveiling of this at SHOT Show 2023.  We don’t have a definitive MSRP at this time but it’ll be somewhere a little north of ~$2,000.  This was one of my favorite new products B&T unveiled while we were in Switzerland.  It’s like a modern-day companion gun for the Glock 20/40 pistols.

We’ll bring you more information on the SPC10 as soon as we have it, so stay tuned and thanks for reading.  Special thank you again to B&T AG staff as well as B&T USA employees for coordinating this event.
