If you are not a Mountain Goat, for a grand less and a pound more, you can get an impulse Hog Hunter in 308.

I've owned an impulse predator for a little over a year now. It shoots, and its fun to cycle, but they put it in the absolute worst stock imaginable. The gun is completely unbalanced, and, as far as know, only Boyd's is making aftermarket stocks for it. So before you plunk down $2.5K on this rifle, just know that you'll be stuck with it as is for the foreseeable future unless you want throw a hardwood stock on it and ruin the "ultralight" aesthetic.
