Photo Of The Day and we’re off to the Republic of Cabo Verde, an archipelago and island country in the central Atlantic Ocean consisting of ten volcanic islands. In these images, U.S. Army Rangers assigned to the 3rd Special Forces Group teach the Cabo Verdean National Guard tactical movements, although the Rangers themselves are not visible.

The Cape Verdean Armed Forces include two branches, the National Guard and the Coast Guard. They were created when the country became independent in 1975. The population of Cabo Verde is about 480,000 people.

This happened during a Joint Combined Exchange Training (JCET) in Praia, Cabo Verde, in September 2022. The teams are focused on honing basic skills such as close-quarters battles, small unit tactics, and mission planning.

We have more stories to tell and more images to show, so please check back tomorrow for another batch.
