Welcome everyone to the 163rd edition of ‘Hot Gat or Fudd Crap?’, one of our many series here on TFB. If you’re new to the series, this is where we look at the most obscure firearms that are actually for sale and ask the question – is this Gat a sweet deal or only has a Fudd appeal? Each week the TFB staff weighs in with their thoughts, but readers get the final say in the poll at the bottom of each article.
In our last edition, our poll showed that you, the readers, decided the SKS was more travesty than majesty.
At this time, the original auction remains up with a current bid of $420.69. I should have expected nothing less. With no reserve and the auction ending this week, we’d like to issue a preemptive congratulations to this gun’s new owner.
In this week’s edition of HGFC, we look at a customized SAM7K pistol chambered in 7.62x39mm. As is tradition, this Zebra striped AK is currently up for sale on GunBroker for $5,999 Buy It Now.
HOT GAT or FUDD CRAP? Zebra Print Classic or Exotically Tragic?
Let’s see what the Staff had to say about this week’s offering:
“Why is it blue and Zebra pattern? It’s like taking a poop and then mixing it with vomit for good measure” – Matt E.
“Putting an EXPS3 on an AK is just an admission that you have no idea what the model numbers of EOTechs mean. In all other respects, that’s what Trace Adkins would call One Hot Mama.” – Hop
“This is the Call of Duty skin you unlock for having an extra chromosome.” -Will P.
“Somewhere underneath all of that is a decent AK” -Rusty S.
“I don’t think Mikhail Kalashnikov really gave a shit about modded AKs. But this? This has him spinning in his grave.” -Tim C.
“Is this stripperflage or pimpticam?” – James Reeves
Selling this wildlife-themed gat is GunBroker seller T1 Black Corp, located in Boca Raton FL. Let’s see what they had to say about this Zebra Striped AK.

The Arsenal SAM7K is slightly departure from the norm as it’s a milled receiver, but features a hinged dust cover (commonly seen on AKS-74U rifles). The SAM7K pistol features a different rear sight as well. In this case, it’s been replaced by a Picatinny rail section with an EOTech mounted on. Sadly, EOTech is not included.
If fashion were to clash with firearms, this is what I would imagine the end result would look like. Everything on this gun is tasteful, but somehow it all isn’t at the same time. All of the modifications do make practical sense, but the overall execution is just lacking. I’d like to point the finger at the paint job, as it seems like it’d be more at home on some collectors edition desert eagle.
SAM7K pistols like all Arsenal firearms are incredibly well-built Bulgarian guns. Does that make this customized one worth a shade under 6k? Well, as always, I leave it up to you, the readers, to decide.
What do you think? Is this Custom SAM7K Pistol a Hot Gat or some gaudy Fudd Crap? Be sure to let us know in the comments below, and cast your vote to let us know if this T1 Black Custom Silver Zebra SAM7K Pistol is a Hot Gat or Fudd Crap:
