With the current situation, things must be rather tense in the Latvian Army, and today we get a look at the second basic military training course for reservists. They’re using the Heckler & Koch G36, without any optics. Typically Latvia uses the G36V which lacks the integrated reflector sight.

What do you think about the Latvian uniform and the camouflage?

POTD, short for Photo Of The Day, is TFB’s daily article series where we try to find interesting photos of firearms and soldiering from around the globe. Did you know that credit for the first-ever color photograph taken goes to the mathematical physicist James Clerk Maxwell? At a lecture in 1861, he unveiled what is to be considered the first durable color photograph. That certainly sounds a lot more interesting than anything I learned at school, and with progress, we now find ourselves with digital color images like these.
