    To the best of my knowledge, the rifle in today’s Photo Of The Day is a Pușcă Automată model 1965 (Automatic Rifle Model 1965 chambered in 7.62×39mm. It’s made by Romarm National Company / Cugir Arms Factory, established in 1799. If you know better, you’re welcome to correct my error in the comments below.

    Romanian soldiers apart of the 812th Infantry Battalion conduct a simulated ground attack during Exercise Saber Junction 22 at Hohenfels Training Area, Joint Multinational Readiness Center (JMRC) In Hohenfels, Germany, Sept. 13, 2022. Saber Junction 22 is a multinational rotation exercise designed to assess the readiness of the U.S. Army’s 173rd Airborne Brigade to execute unified land operations in a joint combined environment and to promote interoperability with more than 4,500 participants from the U.S. and Allied partner nations at the U.S. Army’s Grafenwoehr and Hohenfels training areas.
