Equipping handguns with reflex sights becomes increasingly popular and quite frequently we learn about new players entering this market or companies expanding their offerings of optics-ready handgun products and sights. Primary Arms is no exception and they’ve recently released two new Classic Series handgun red dot sights – the Mini and Micro Reflex Sights. Let’s take a quick look at each of the new Primary Arms sights.

The Classic Series™ proves that entry-level optics don’t have to be poor quality optics. Unlike some other brands, we don’t use the word “value” as a euphemism for “junk”. Classic Series red dots are perfect for the budget conscious and the new shooter. We take the time to 100% inspect every product in our facility here in Houston to ensure you are receiving the best quality product as our other three tiers. These red dots are backed by the same excellent customer service and support as all other Primary Arms products.
With a 24x17mm lens, the Primary Arms Mini Reflex Sight is the larger of the company’s two new red dot sights and is marketed for compact and full-size handguns as well as for use as an offset sight on carbines. This is a Trijicon RMR footprint sight. The 3-MOA dot is powered by a single CR2032 battery which is bottom mounted meaning that the sight must be uninstalled from the weapon for a battery change which, however, you’ll need to do once in four and a half years on average as the battery life on the medium brightness setting is 40,000 hours. The sight has a total of 10 brightness settings and an adjustable dot with 1-MOA click values. The housing is made of 6061-T6 aluminum and the lens is fully multi-coated. The overall weight of the Primary Arms Mini Reflex Sight is just under an ounce (.97oz).
Primary Arms Micro Reflex Sight is a smaller RDS optimized for use with subcompact pistols. This sight has a Shield RMSc mounting footprint. It is one inch wide, has a 21x15mm lens and weighs a little over half an ounce (.56oz). The housing material, battery type and life, dot size and specs are identical to the Mini Reflex Sight.
Not only a lot of tech specs are similar between these two new Primary Arms sights but they are also priced identically. The Primary Arms Micro Reflex Sight can be pre-ordered on the company’s website for $149.99. Both sights are backed by Primary Arms Optics Lifetime Warranty.
