Smith & Wesson has just announced the release of a new iteration of their M&P9 M2.0 pistol dubbed M&P9 M2.0 METAL. As the model name suggests, the new pistol features a metal frame. The aluminum frame of the new M&P9 M2.0 METAL pistol is externally similar to its polymer counterpart and is compatible with standard M&P9 M2.0 slides, magazines, palm swells and holsters.

The performance that began with our polymer construction is now forging forward. The lightweight and rigid metal frame of the Smith & Wesson M&P9 M2.0 Metal provides an extraordinary foundation for higher performance.
The new Smith & Wesson M&P9 M2.0 METAL is a striker-fired pistol chambered in 9x19mm and fed from 17-round magazines. The frame lacks a thumb safety and features an 18-degree grip angle, textured polymer front strap, reversible magazine release button, ambidextrous wide slide stop and standard 1913/Picatinny accessory rail. Both the aluminum frame and stainless steel slide of the pistol have a Cerakote finish of Tungsten Gray color. The slide is optics cut, has front serrations and is fitted with steel white dot front and rear sights. The 4.25″ stainless steel barrel has a 1:10″ twist rate and Armornite finish. The pistol comes with an M2.0 flat face trigger and enhanced sear. The overall length of the M&P9 M2.0 METAL pistol is 7.4″ and it weighs in at 30oz which is a little over 5oz heavier compared to a polymer-framed M&P M2.0.
Smith & Wesson M&P9 M2.0 METAL pistol is listed on the company’s website at an MSRP of $899. The pistol comes with four different-size grip swells and two 17-round magazines. For more information, visit www.smith-wesson.com.
