POTD: Heckler & Koch HK417 A2 with TigIR-6Z+ Thermal Clip-On

Each day a different image from the World of firearms. We call this POTD, short for Photo Of The Day, and it is our daily article series where we go to great lengths trying to find the most interesting pictures for you out there.

Today we have an image from Heckler & Koch Germany, featuring their HK417 A2 rifle. The thermal clip-on is most likely the TigIR-6Z+ made by Andres Industries AG. As you can see, it’s pretty compact, yet powerful with a 640×512 pixels / 60Hz thermal sensor. The overall length is only just over 11 centimeters. The price for the thermal is about €9,000.00, but you get free shipping if you qualify as a buyer. The Concamo camoflague is a lot more affordable, but you don’t really realize it which is kind of the point if you think about it.

Here is the caption from H&K:

Effective and variable in use: The HK417 A2 – available in 13″, 16.5″ and 20″

Here is a direct link to the HK417 in case you want to learn more about the rifle.

What do you think of the setup? Isn’t a suppressor missing here?

What weighs more, the rifle or the optic? Leave it to the Germans.
