In commemoration of their 45th anniversary, Wilson Combat has released limited edition CQB 1911 pistols that have classic features from the times when the company was just established. Particularly, old-school features seen in these retro pistols include an upswept retro grip safety, traditional Bo-Mar style adjustable rear sight with a staked ramp front, a retro Commander style hammer, Swenson-style ambidextrous thumb safety, and a coarsely serrated slide top. To commemorate Wilson Combat’s 45th Anniversary of gunsmithing, we are bringing back a classic “retro” style that built the foundation of our business back in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Custom 1911 handguns of that period were rapidly evolving based on the needs of practical pistol shooters and Wilson Combat emerged as a leader in 1911 handgun customization by focusing on performing superior quality work at a fair price with a reasonable delivery time-those core values still drive our business today.
Wilson Combat 45th Anniversary 1911 pistols are available chambered in .45 ACP and 9mm Luger. The former comes with 8-round magazines and the latter with 10-round ones. These are full/government size pistols with 5″ stainless steel match-grade hand-fit barrels. The carbon steel frames and slides have smooth sides and are finished with the company’s deluxe bluing. The magazine wells are contoured and the pistols are equipped with Wilson Combat Bullet Proof magazine release buttons. The beveled-bottom smooth grips are made of desert ironwood. The trigger pull weight is 3.5-4.5 lbs. The overall length of these pistols is 8.7″ and the empty weight is 40.5oz. Wilson Combat guarantees that the 45th Anniversary 1911 pistols will print 1″ groups at 25 yards.
