If you’re in the market for a new rimfire pistol to scratch your plinking itch, this is the place to start with these great deals featured from Palmetto State Armory.

KelTec PMR30

Regular Price: $629.99

Sale Price: $529.99

In 2008, Kel-Tec’s Chief Design Engineer, Tobias Obermeit had a vision to build a semi-auto .22WMR pistol that holds 30 rounds in a flush-fit magazine. Roughly based on an early, futuristic looking George Kellgren design, the PMR30 was released in 2010 with high praise and stands out as one of the most innovative handguns in the world today.

The KelTec PMR30 isn’t known as one of the most reliable .22 WMR pistols out there but it does have the distinction of being one of the few semi-auto .22 WMR pistols on the market today. Hopefully, there will be even more options and perhaps even an updated model from KelTec coming soon.

Born of the traditions of the Old West, the Rough Rider maintains much of the look and feel of the legendary Single Action Army revolver, only in a scaled down version. Chambered for the .22LR, the Rough Rider is manufactured using state-of-the-art precision machinery that assures its accuracy and reliability. The cylinder lock-up is tight and the perfect timing of the action makes for a handgun that will put its shots where you want ’em.

The Heritage Rough Rider is a series of very inexpensive and fun .22LR revolvers perfect for a fun day at the range popping cans off of a fence post. Super fun, highly recommended. If you’re not a fan of the American Flag grips, there are several other trims also available on sale on PSA.

My thoughts on the current polymer 22 pistols:
    - P322 is the new best of the polymer plinkers, but it's been selling for $600-$700, when it should be less than the MSRP of $399. My LGS got 30 of them in stock, and even at $450 I raced over to get one.
    - TX22 is cheaper and does have a better trigger. Early barrel issues seem to be fixed.
    - P17 has been great for me, and I got both mine for $159...which is a smoking deal for what you get.
    - M&P COMPACT 22 is great--probably my 3rd or 4th favorite option.
    - SR22 is great but really pricey when there are three as good or better options. The only thing that sets it apart is that it's small compared to the TX22/P322 and more reliable than the P22s which have been hit and miss.

I absolutely love my Taurus TX-22. It has an amazing trigger and the ergonomics are stellar. The sites are also very good plus the standard mag capacity is 16 rounds which is easy to extend up to 21 rounds. I shoot this one every week and the reliability is excellent! Oh, and one more thing, Taurus after sales support is really, really good. They are super responsive and down right nice people. They offer lots of mods and support for the TX-22. I can’t say enough good things about the TX-22.
