Mossberg Reintroduces the MC2c Compact Pistol – Now Optics-Ready

Mossberg has just announced that they’ve redesigned their MC2c (compact) 9mm pistol to now include the ability to directly mount a red dot optic to its slide. The Mossberg MC2c was introduced in 2020 and was notable for its ultra-slim profile and stainless-steel black DLC coated slides which made it very concealable and a durable compact option for concealed carry. Now, like the recently released Mossberg MC2sc optic ready subcompact pistols, the MC2c line will feature optics-ready capability and a full co-witness with iron sights.

The MC2c features a 3.9-inch barrel and has an overall length of 7.10 inches; surprisingly-slim width of 1.10 inches; height of 4.90 inches; and weighs in at 21 ounces (unloaded). Other standard features include dovetail-mounted, low-profile white 3-dot sights (drift adjustable); stainless steel barrel with cut-broached rifling, 1-in-16 twist rate, and black DLC finish; front accessory rail; oversized trigger guard; and flat-profile trigger with integrated blade safety, reduced overtravel, and approximate 5.5-pound trigger pull weight.

And now, integrated into the MC2c slide is a removable plate which allows for direct mounting of an optic (Shield RMS footprint) that facilitates co-witness with the white 3-dot sights. Compared to standard sights, an optic-equipped pistol offers increased accuracy and speed and will provide a much easier time employing the sight for shooters with older or ailing eyes.

The new optics-ready version will come standard with a 14-round flush fit magazine and an extended 16-round double-stack magazine. The Shield RMS footprint will allow you to also mount other great pistol red dot sights like the Crimson Trace Rad Micro, JPoint, and SIG ROMEO Zero, just to name a few. Models will be available with or without the manual safety and 10-round compliant versions of the pistol will also be made available. The MSRP of the new optics-ready Mossberg MC2c is set at $556 for the base version and $662 for the night sight equipped version. What are your thoughts on the MC2c compact pistol line from Mossberg? If you currently own a previous generation MC2c, would you be willing to make the upgrade to the optics-ready version? Let us know down in the comments!
