The legendary 10/22 has just received three new short barrel offerings from Faxon Firearms with the release of the new Faxon Rimfire lineup of barrels. These three new offerings to their already existing rimfire rifle barrel lineup all have fluted designs, threaded muzzles, and are all made from 416R stainless steel. The 10/22 has been a favorite firearm of mine since I was young and decades later I’m happy to see that new and interesting aftermarket parts continue to be offered for this robust rimfire semi-auto rifle.

New Faxon Rimfire Barrel Line for Ruger 10/22
Each of the new Faxon Rimfire barrels will be made right alongside Faxon’s other American-made barrels in their Cincinnati facility from raw bar stock and will undergo the same testing and quality control measures that their AR and pistol barrels go through. The barrels will feature 6-groove rifling at a 1:16 twist rate, a recessed target crown, and will be finished in either a Salt Bath Nitride or PVD coating. All of the new barrels will be Magnetic Particle Inspected to ensure high quality.
The 6″ and 10.5″ barrels will come with the same straight fluting design and the 8.5″ barrel will feature a Flame fluted design. For all of the barrels, if you attach them to a standard 10/22 receiver, you’ll have to go through the process of applying for a tax stamp for your 10/22 SBR. If you do purchase one of these barrels, Faxon Firearms has a handy 10/22 Barrel Installation Tutorial on their YouTube channel in case you’re unfamiliar with the process or just need a little help getting it started. The barrels will be sold starting at a price of $220 for the 6-inch version, $255 for the Flame Fluted 8.5″, and $240 for the 10.5 straight fluted barrel.
