The New SIG FOXTROT2 Weapon Mounted Light – Programmable WML

Building on the success of the original FOXTROT WML but now featuring more power and more versatility, the new SIG Sauer FOXTROT2 Weapon Mounted Light has just been announced by SIG’s Electro-Optics division. The new flashlight boasts 130 more lumens of total light output,13,000 peak candela, and 3 different user-programmable activation modes. The new light is intended for use with the SIG P320 and all of its variants, as well as 1911s, SIG SP2022, P220, P229, P226, MK-25, M17 and M18.

The FOXTROT2 is designed for the user that wants maximum output and maximum adjustability at their fingertips. This versatile weapon-mounted light has 580 lumens/13,000 Candela and is programmable with 3 user-defined modes; Momentary, Latching, and Threshold Mode. Additionally, the user can adjust the light on the rail using the supplied 4-Position Sliding Rail; Interface Inserts For Maximum Adjustment Range On The Firearm. The FOXTROT2 mounts to any Picatinny 1913, SIG SAUER proprietary, or Glock rails with no need for adapters or cross-slot modifications. Ambidextrous Activation Paddles to power the ultra-efficient white LED that runs up to one hour on a single CR123 battery. The rail-mounted light is ideal for home defense, law enforcement, or military applications and should fit most holsters designed for handgun lights.

The 1913 adjustable rail interface should prove to be a useful feature for adjusting the light to fit on various pistols and with various holster setups. While the momentary-on mode seems to be standard practice for most people, some may like to opt to use the latching mode which turns the momentary switch into a standard on-off switch. Additionally, users can use the left and right paddles for various combinations of latching and momentary modes. All of these modes are available to the user and are done by using a combination of button presses detailed in the user manual. The listed price of the new SIG FOXTROT2 is set at $160.99 which puts it around the price of a new Streamlight TLR1.
