This year has certainly started with a bang, and our Photo Of The Day has never been so diversified. We’ve been from Novosibirsk, driven hunts to the Japanese Jungle already. Today we have a recruiting poster from the German Special Forces unit called GSG9 (GrenzSchutzGruppe 9). You can see the H&K MP5 SD and a Smith & Wesson .357 revolver.

This is one of my favorite recruiting posters ever. From the late 1970s, it depicts a GSG9 Operator about to make entry. Slung around his side is an early model Heckler and Koch MP5SD (without the rubber hand guard and barrel shroud) and on his chest, a Smith and Wesson .357 revolver and extra ammo. These were carried prior to the unit switching over to the H&K P9S and then P7 pistols.
They don’t do advertising like this anymore and that’s a shame.
