The hottest new caliber on the market has just received another option in the form of Federal Ammunition’s new American Eagle 30 Super Carry load offered in a 100-grain FMJ configuration and in boxes of 50-rounds. 30 Super Carry has been quite controversial within the firearms market because of its claims of having a performance boost over .380 ACP while simultaneously giving regular 9mm users an increase in capacity in their guns.

American Eagle 30 Super Carry Launched by Federal Ammunition
While most of the focus for the new 30 Super Carry Cartridge has been on self-defense oriented ammunition offerings, the new American Eagle 30 Super Carry 100-grain FMJ offering is intended to cover the training side of things by allowing 30 Super Carry users to train more affordably and with nearly identical performance to Federal’s popular HST lineup.
The 30 Super Carry fills a big gap in handgun cartridges,” said Chris Laack, Federal’s Handgun Ammunition Product Manager. “This new cartridge offers a significant terminal performance boost over the 380 Auto with as much muzzle energy as a 9mm Luger. Users will see performance similar to 9mm Luger with slightly less recoil and additional magazine capacity.
The new American Eagle 30 Super Carry load will feature a Full Metal Jacket bullet and reloadable brass. These two factors with its more affordable price per round should make it an attractive offering for concealed carriers who still need to train and practice with their handguns to remain proficient. Federal Ammunition states that their 100-grain FMJ 30 Super Carry ammunition can achieve velocities of 1,250 FPS out of a 4-inch barrel meaning it should perform exactly like the more expensive but more lethal Personal Defense HST that 30 Super Carry is also offered. Each 50-round box of American Eagle 30 Super Carry 100-grain FMJ will be priced at an MSRP of $31.99. Be sure to keep an eye out for this stuff at your local ammunition supplier if you’ve already adopted this new concealed carry cartridge!
