I hate to bring up a sore subject for most of us but last year (2021) was a pretty rough one for firearms owners. When it came to finding ammunition, you were either stuck with depleting your hard-earned reserves, purchasing overpriced ammunition, or just not shooting at all. Despite this, the ammunition industry tried its best to keep up with demand, and apparently, CCI Blazer was the most frequently purchased handgun ammunition for last year according to a survey compiled by Southwick Associates and their “Hunting & Shooting Participation and Equipment Purchase Consumer Tracking Study“.

CCI Blazer Named Most Frequently Purchased Handgun Ammo for 2021
Once again, CCI is very proud of the continued popularity of Blazer Brass centerfire handgun ammunition,” said Handgun Ammunition Product Director, Mike Holm. “We continue to push to provide consumers with a quality product that performs as well as consumers expect it to. We are also incredibly pleased to see that combined, CCI and Blazer make up more than 14% of handgun ammunition boxes purchased. This shows the large market share that these two storied brands have in our industry.
The survey conducted revealed that all CCI brands and affiliate brands combined within the ammunition market accounted for over 32% of boxes purchased. CCI Blazer alone has 43 SKUs giving shooters a wide variety of calibers, bullet weights, and projectile types to choose from ranging from target and practice ammo to defensive jacketed hollow points.
Since I am a rimfire junkie, it is also worth noting that CCI gained a high rank in the same survey with CCI’s ammunition accounting for almost 6% of total boxes purchased. The survey was conducted by getting feedback from over 11,000 hunters, and shooters. I’d like to hear your thoughts on CCI Blazer and its recent success in the ammunition market.
