A particularly innovative product at the Shot Show this year was the Holosun SCS, a solar-charging
system for its red dot sights. With its ability to use sunlight to power the device and charge its battery, it
has the potential to be a perpetually powered optic. No worrying about battery charge or additional
power sources, doesn’t this sound good? If your answer is yes, then you have a kindred spirit in Heckler
& Koch. The gunsmiths from Oberndorf picked it as the tailor fit sights for their latest model in the SFP9 OR range, which was presented at Enforcer Tac.

    TFB @ Enforce Tac/IWA 2022:

The gun itself is a subcompact pistol chambered in 9mm Luger with a magazine capacity of 10 rounds. Making it easier to carry than is older iterations, while still providing a useful amount of firepower. The gun is very ergonomic and handles quite well; you can get a nice and firm grip on it. But if necessary, there will be 5 different backstraps, including ones with beavertail, to modify it to your liking,

The advantage of this construction is that the red dot can be placed directly on the optic’s cut. This
results in a line of sight that is far closer to the barrel, compared with other models that require a carrier
plate. In fact, the original iron sights could still be used, if the lighting conditions should prevent the
use of the red dot (which was green on all presented guns).

However, there was a difference of opinion when it came to the market launch. H&K expects the
package to be available earlier this year. Holosun, on the other hand, is only aiming for the fourth
    quarter.

But this is by no means the last addition to the SFP9 OR family! Developments are already underway for
another variant. The SFP 9 CC (Concealed Carry) is coming. This is also a 9x19mm weapon, but with a single stack magazine. If this catches your interest, you will have to be patient, because it is not projected to be market ready before 2024.
