Volker Precision recently announced that they’ve been working on a project to manufacture Beretta 92 slides that are “optics ready,” and allow for the lowest possible mounting platform for micro red dot optics. Volker Precision has already been producing Glock 19 slide blanks, and their first venture into the Beretta 92 market was a straight trigger. It appears that the new Volker Precision Beretta 92 Slides are still being sorted out in CAD drawings, so no word yet on pricing and when they’ll be available.

The following quotes are from Volker Precision’s owner, Chris, from their Facebook Page.

Alright guys and gals. The mechanic side of the Beretta 92 slide design is set and I really like the aesthetics of this design. What say you?? -Chris

I’d like to further define what this new Beretta 92/96 slide project is. We will be manufacturing these slides from scratch. These are not, and cannot be made from an existing factory slide. There will be several proprietary internal parts that make this project possible that are not compatible with factory slides. These slides will mount the RDO directly without the need of adaptor plates. This lets you mount the RDO as low possible. I’ve been blown away by the response and the amount of PM’s we have gotten. I’d like to say thank you! A lot of you guys have been asking about custom features and options and I’d like to use this post as a forum of ideas. What optics do you want to see? What finishes and colors are most popular? Thanks again guys!! -Chris

Volker Precision’s decision to offer updated Beretta slides, along with other manufacturers, only solidifies that the 92 series is here to stay, all despite the U.S. Armed Services’ transition away from it several years ago. There wasn’t any mention of whether Volker Precision intends to produce the grip panels seen above, but let us know what you think of them in the comment section as well. The front sight either isn’t finalized in the CAD design yet, or there’s something else going on. Do you think it’s possible they’ll be machined to accept Glock front sights?

Stay tuned to TFB for more information as Volker Precision moves forward with their optics-ready Beretta 92 Slides. In the meantime, be sure to check out VolkerPrecision.com to see the other products they offer or check out their Facebook and Instagram, and Twitter pages.

What do you think about Volker Precision’s new Beretta 92 Slides? Since they’re looking at a direct mount platform, which red dot footprint would you like to see them tackle first?
