Midwest Industries Releases NEW Marlin Extended Sight System
I don’t know a single person who doesn’t think lever-action firearms are cool. There has been a recent trend of lever-action guns receiving the modern treatment. Midwest Industries has put to market several products meant to modernize your lever gun. The most recent, intended for Marlin 1895 rifles, is the Marlin Extended Sight System.
Midwest Industries news @ TFB:
“We’re taking the classic lever-action rifle and making it tactical,” said Troy Storch, Owner of Midwest Industries. “It’s the best of old and new for Marlin® owners. Shooters can bring the lever gun into the modern age with a sleek, sophisticated sight system.”
Midwest Industries Releases NEW Marlin Extended Sight System
The new Marlin Extended Sight System from Midwest Industries gives you a full-length top Picatinny rail for mounting optics, lasers, or whatever else you can come up with. The handguard is made from hard coat anodized 6061 aluminum and features M-LOK slots all the way around. Included is a 5-slot rail section to get you started mounting your accessories. With the use of M-LOK, there are plenty of ways to attach a sling. However, if you prefer traditional hunting slings, there is a forward-mounted sling swivel at the six o’clock position. Also included is a set of heavy-duty steel ghost ring sights, which are adjustable for windage and elevation. This is currently available only for 1895 models, but the 1894 system will be released at a later date.

Would have fit right in on "Firefly". Mal's long gun of choice.
The best modern way to carry ammunition for a lever gun seems to be a rifle version of the velcro card just like with shotgun cards. I worry a tad this set up doesn't really make room for that.
It probably could have a flat surface in put in the same area as the cartridge holders though. Edit: if I'd read that more carefully I would have seen it's only about the forend!
