POTD: Dragunov Sniper Rifles in Sniper Frontier Belarus
Photo Of The Day and we’re reporting from the Republic of Belarus, the Brestsky training ground in fact. The first stage of the international competition Sniper Frontier has started, a competition where teams from 21 countries take part. In the individual standings, the Russian team was the first with the teams of Kyrgyzstan, Venezuela, Azerbaijan and Sri Lanka following.
The first stage was carried out in order to determine the best sniper of the competition. It consisted of seven exercises: “Qualification”, “Shooting for offset”, “Sniper on the defensive at night”, “Sniper on the offensive”, “Pyramid”, “Shooting with the removal of the aiming point”, “Shooting from an uncomfortable position.”
Here you can see snipers using a 7.62mm Dragunov sniper rifle, but they also use the Makarov pistol.
During the first exercise, snipers fired two test shots at a target measuring 425x297mm with a point in the center with a diameter of 2 cm. The distance ranged from 300 to 600 meters.
