The MI-SCOUT-XM is the first new offering for the MI Scout Light Extended Mounts series and moves your SureFire Scout Light Pro weapon light a full 3-inches forward from its mounting position. The MI-SCOUT-XM only weighs 1.1 ounces so you don’t need to be too concerned with the mount adding additional weight that far forward on the gun. The MI-SCOUT-XM is sold for $49.95.
The MI-SCOUT-XAP is the second offering in the new lineup and features the same 3-inches of forwarding placement that the SCOUT-XM does but this version features an ambidextrous Picatinny mounting solution. This will not only allow you to move your light further forward to clear other mounted accessories but also frees up additional rail space for the mounting of switches and other accessories. As a final feature, the MI-SCOUT-XAP features a reversible light mount to ensure a snug fit and more mounting options. The MI-SCOUT-XAP will be sold for $69.70.
The MI-MXB is the last offering and is essentially just an M-LOK compatible extension beam. This version of the forward light mount features compatibility with M-LOK mounted lights and M-LOK rails, This mount is the lightest of the 3 offerings at just 1-ounce and is made from the same 6061 hard coat anodized aluminum that the rest of the MI-SCOUT series is made of. This offering will set you back $47.95.
All three new MI Scout Light Extended mounts are available and in stock at the time of writing on the Midwest Industries website. Do these extended light mounts solve any accessory mounting problems for you guys? I’m interested to see what the market reaction would be to these new mounts considering that many people are getting into low-light shooting as of late.
