Quickhatch, another name for a wolverine, is how the new AK pistol by Rifle Dynamics called. Inspired by the Krinkov, the Rifle Dynamics Quickhatch adds modern features to the original concept and is chambered in 7.62×39 which I’d say is a better cartridge for a weapon of this size. Let’s take a closer look.

Welcome the newest member of the Rifle Dynamics family. The Quickhatch fills the specialized role of PDW (Personal Defense Weapon) in our line up. Taking inspiration from the original AK PDW, the AKSU, we wanted to build something similar in size but also taking advantage of modern gear and accessories in mind.
Rifle Dynamics Quickhatch AK pistol was built with suppressed shooting in mind. The 9″ nitrided barrel has a custom gas port location and piston length that result in more than twice the barrel length after the gas port compared to Krinkov, which increases the dwell time and allows having sufficient pressure in the system to operate the gun without a need for overgassing the gun. Additionally, the Quickhatch features a new, low-profile version of the Rifle Dynamics tunable gas block and of course, the barrel is threaded (1/2×28). The pistol also comes with a Dead Air KeyMo compatible Forward Controls Design A2 flash hider installed.
The aluminum handguard of the Quickhatch pistol is designed specifically for this project in collaboration with Occam Defense Solutions. It has a top Picatinny rail as well as M-LOK slots on the sides and bottom. The stock/brace attachment interface is a Picatinny rail and the pistol comes with an SB Tactical SBA3 brace and Midwest Industries folding buffer tube adapter. Rifle Dynamics Quickhatch pistols also feature a tuned action, tuned LBE Unlimited G3 trigger, and Tango Down pistol grip. The overall weight of this AK pistol is 6lbs 10.1 oz. The length without a stock/brace installed is 20″
