The Patrol 6HD will come in two distinct models. The first will have a standard pop-up re-zero elevation and windage turrets. This model will also have the Illimunted FireDot Duplex Reticle. Powered by a fiber-optic, this reticle has multiple brightness settings and a simple but timeless design.

The second model will feature Leupold’s signature Custom Dial System (CDS) and the CM-R2 reticle. The CM-R2 provides a more modern reticle, with a dot in a horse-shoe design.

The CDS provides a quick and easy way to dial in your scope, without worrying about hold-overs or accounting for drop. Each CDS-compatible scope from Leupold comes with a coupon for a free CDS turret. You send Leupold your standard load data and the atmospheric conditions where you usually shoot, and Leupold laser-etches a custom dial specific to your shooting needs. Once the CDS is installed, the shooting process is simple. Estimate or measure the range to your target, say 400 meters. Turn the CDS dial to 4, and it’s point and shoot.

    Quality of Life Improvements

Both models of the Patrol 6HD, aside from the reticle and dial systems, will be otherwise identical. They will both feature the Guard-Ion lens coating. This hydrophobic coating will help keep away water, dust, dirt, and fingerprints to keep the lens clean. They will also have a motion-sensor technology that auto-shuts off the illuminated reticle after 5 minutes to save battery and turns it back on when motion is detected. The other major quality-of-life improvement the Patrol 6HD will have is an electronic level detector. The reticle will flash when the scope is not level, making mounting the optic much easier.
