TFB Podcast Roundup 83: Everyone is Worried About the Future

Welcome to TFB Podcast Roundup 27. As we press on into 2022, many of you are probably making resolutions for yourself in your personal life or even in your firearms life. One of my goals for this year is to increase the frequency that I compete and to attend more classes and firearms seminars if possible. What are your goals this year? Don’t have any yet? A couple of these podcasts from this week’s roundup might give you a few ideas as it seems that nearly every podcast released last week had their respective hosts talking bout what they want to see out of 2022, and also what they didn’t like about 2021. So while you’re on your cold morning commute into work, take a listen to these podcasts and let us know if any of them inspired you to set some solid goals, firearms or otherwise for 2022.

While 2021 was apparently a wash for him and he didn’t like hit, 2022 looks to be a year where he wants to become a “one gun” person in the sense that he becomes an expert on his primary carry piece, as well as to have more fun shooting in 2022.

Dave Hartman’s 3-Gun Show 313: Setting Your Shooting Goals

    Length: 105 Minutes

Subjets: Dave and Kyle Litzie talk about setting their goals for 2022 and their successes from 2021

3-Gun has been a recent obsession of mine and I really want to get into it full swing. However, the cost of ammunition and equipment is still high and isn’t showing any signs of coming down any time soon, so the best I have until then is going to be listening to these podcasts by Dave Hartman to mentally prepare myself for when I can set foot on the 3-gun range.

Kyle Litzie is back on the 3-Gun Show podcast this week to discuss his dominating 2021 season, setting shooting goals and his new company, Unrivaled Technologies.

Firearms Nation Podcast: JOHN KELLY – LAW ENFORCEMENT LIFE COACH

    Length: 78 Minutes

Subjects: Law Enforcement suicides and the future that law enforcement and military individuals face and how we can help

John Kelly had a career as a police officer that lasted over 30 years. During that time he had a variety of positions as well as becoming a sergeant. One thing that he learned along the way was how to survive the constant life stress that this type of work puts on people.

This year, over 118 police officers have killed themselves. That’s more than double the amount of police that have been killed by gunfire. One of the aspects to John’s new work is to connect with departments and individuals to create an avenue where officers can get help and work out their problems. Talking to a counselor is good but talking to someone who’s been there with you, sharing the same experiences is better.

As John says, “Sometimes heroes need help…”

This is an important podcast to listen to even if you are not in law enforcement or the military. During the holiday season, people can easily magnify their problems. Listen and share it. Stay safe.

Kenn Blanchard Show: What is the best gun for a woman?

    Length: 27 Minutes

Subjects: Formerly known as “Black Man With a Gun” the new Kenn Blanchard Show talks about what the best guns are for women

I got off topic a little talking about the PC terms of woman or female. It does relate though to the topic. I am not trying to offend or trigger you, if this is a touch point but I want to be honest with who I am.

I remember the days when firearms instructors would tell women what type of firearms they thought best. These guys would not do well In todays gun culture. It was the culture to be sexist, homophobic, and/or racist. While I am getting my self in all kinds of trouble let me say this unapologetically that I tip my hat, applaud and appreciate all the women, Gay, Lesbian and Trans friends that are around my age plus or minus 20 years that are in the gun movement. You have managed to get proficient and survive in a culture I didn’t realize was as bad as it was. As a person of color, a black guy, negro, afro American, African American, black not Hispanic – I dealt with color and race issues. I can’t fathom adding that to gender equality and sexual preference too. Some times, my background, and the legacy of those instructors and living creep into my verbiage. I apologize in advance.
